I have read so many great reviews of this film plus so many posts here on IF but literally I am scared of Varun Dhawan and his acting.

It’s Varun’s career best performance however not everyone’s cup of tea due it’s slow pace and no entertainment
For me, Varun wasn't acting in October. He was Dan (his character).
Its one of those films where I find it so hard to express in words, the emotions it evoked in me. Never seen anything like that before. It's just so bittersweet. Story, acting, direction, score, cinematography.. everything is top notch.
Please watch it.
Honestly I loved the film and even though it was slow, it was very engaging. Also though the subject matter was heavy, it was not melodramatic or heavy at all to watch. It is only when the movie ends that everything hits you. That last shot of Varun carrying the Shiuli tree (no spoiler) moved me to tears.
I thought he did a fabulous job with Dan. His limitations didnt show because the character starts with being a brat and evolves slowly, so you are with him on the journey.
It depends on what kind of movies you like. I liked it because I am a fan of such movies. The time I watched the trailer, I craved to watch it and finally watched and loved it both.
For me, the movie is aesthetically pleasing ,just like a poetry moving. I really was impressed by Varun and Banita Sandhu was Amazing. The movie gives you lot of moments to feel. It's not that boring as people tell it to be, first half is weirdly hilarious, second half is more serious one but even then I found some hilarious moments.
This movie might not be loved by people who love masala movies more but even then it's a good one time watch for them too. Also, it's not a love story like they tell in the trailer. Not a typical movie in my opinion. ♥
I would recommend you to try watching this.
Its a good watch! Loved VD in it
It's amazing, Geetanjali is phenomenal and Varun& Bandita are endearing.
Varun is a decent actor. At least hagataa nahin hai. You can nihsankoch watch him in Badlapur & October.
It’s a good movie and great acting . But ya may not be entertaining for many.
Watched it. It was a great movie. I never knew Harsingar (the flower, mogra) had such a strong connection with the movie. I was already obsessed with that flower and yet don't own a tree.
Also it was shot in IIT Delhi, my alma mater so it made me nostalgic too.
Is it just me or are genuinely good-looking men in Bollywood becoming a rare breed? I mean, sure, there are actors with charm, screen presence,...
2012 is often hailed as one of the best years for Bollywood — and rightly so — but 2016 deserves to be in that conversation too. It was a year...
