Wow someone is triggered after passing snide personal comments since two days while others were talking about the story and characters 😆. Now if someone responds to your personal attacks, it’s too much for you?

Stop passing personal comments over criticism of a fictional character.

Peace out. No need to pass snide comments about my views and I will be happy to ignore yours too.

Chill friends, it’s only a show & one that we love and therefore get emotional or defensive about. Let’s not forget that we are all here for the show & we all want the best for our fave show so we have a lot more in common than these small differences in pov or how we put it across - so lets not dwell on that.

I love reading both Silvermoonlight’s & Areyaar’s comments & inputs here, so pls nobody leave 🙏

My own take is our criticism of Niya is as a child of her father, it may not have been different if she were a boy. It is a case of a well-intentioned but ill-chosen approach, and being interfering, judgmental & blind to faults in one’s own team. Nothing sexist there!

On the other hand, Niya’s comments on Guneet as a characterless woman definitely smacks of sexism. What about her father agreeing to meet the mouth-organ lady while chatting on the app with BM at the same time? Niya did not think back on that & find it disrespectful to that lady? What about trying to sabotage someone’s roka just because she turned out to be your faceless love? Why did Niya overlook all that... coz men will be men?

Hi Bana,

I appreciate your attempt to return this to a MATURE discussion and exchange of thoughts, so I will be happy to respond in kind.

Nia is currently being criticized for her immature handling of the situation.....even beyond being a protective daughter, as you have also pointed out, she is blind to her father's hypocrisies in also going on dates with other women while talking to BM....heck, BM and NDP used to tell each other about their dates with other people while chatting, so this "two-timing" nonsense is just cheap slander.

It would really help the discussion atmosphere here if people could learn to seperate between fictional characters and actors. I criticize Amber a lot too, now is that supposed to mean I am "hurting" Varun?😕....obviously not. So it is Nia's character that is being criticized for her immaturity and smearing of another woman....not the actress playing her.

Let's hope for all our sakes, we can find it within ourselves to understand the difference between fiction and reality.

Yeah girl I get all that ...I ain’t saying Nia isn’t at fault ...but she isn’t the ONLY one at fault

All 3 are ...they have all done some hurtful things. I don’t get why Amber and Guneet are accused of 2 timing and cheating. It makes little sense cause they never physically met or were in a relationship. They should both be allowed to see other people because they were chat buddies up til a certain point and even reiterated

Nia is a head strong mid 20s girl. I enjoy watching her and her flaws cause that’s how we all are. Nia crossed some lines , Amber crossed many more and Guneet a few. They all got flaws...and it’s okay. Nia loves her dad and she is overprotective of her dad cause it seems like no other family exists. Once she sees her dad happy maybe she will let go and realize he will be ok. Can’t happen overnight. Let it take its natural course ...

maybe this Rishi guy can sort help sort some things out since he is older and probably has relationship experience

While we can argue that both Nia and Guneet lashed out under provocation, in my view the difference is this-

Guneet had only just got to know that AS was NDP. She lashed out in anger without having any time to process the information. She did not love AS, or even NDP at that point. With Nia, her criticism of Guneet was at a very fundamental level, on her character. AND this was after she'd accepted her father's love for her. If this is what she felt about her really, did she ever respect Guneet? Would this judgment she had of her character not come up sometime or the other, even if Guneet had not reacted in the way she did?

Good point. Big difference between saying hurtful things in anger & a deep-rooted prejudice that is blurted out in anger.

This is exactly the crux of it.....Lashing out in anger is one thing....lashing out to fundamentally tear down someone and their character is another level of low.

For what it's worth, I still don't know if this is actually how Nia's thinking works or she said it in anger to hurt Guneet. Either way, the fact that she was willing to fall that low just to retaliate doesn't reflect well on her.

In terms of Guneet, I have one more theory for why she made that comment about Amber emotionally blackmailing and holding Nia back from her social life.....because it is something Guneet has personally experienced with her own mom...she knows that feeling of a parent emotionally blackmailing a kid with so much baggage cuz she's been that kid....that is why she said in the heat of the moment to Nia. And Nia couldn't stand that criticism of her father even though she knows there's a grain of truth in it. Yes, Amber-Nia see each other through many ups and downs and Amber eventually guilt trips and apologizes but that doesn't change the fact that he has thrown many tantrums on many occasions along the way.

Guneet slapped Amber, in the heat of the moment when he tried stopping her. She just left after hearing the revelation, she did not slap Amber then and wouldn’t have if he did not tried to stop her twice.
Amber on the other hamd took days to recover from the shock that Guneet is BM. And during this time he did some irreparable damage with his words and actions. The craziness actually landed him up in jail! And after days he realised he loves Guneet. This is the context that Niya should have considered while defending her dad. What is more infuriating ( for me as viewer*) is when she sees Guneet again, she says you remember what happened last time ? You want a repeat of that? 🤢🤢 So you have days to calm down, ponder over, ask your dad what happened. But the first thing she tells Guneet is she wants a repeat of that day!!
