This is a case of online fraud regarding identity. Fake accounts means, identity theft. Which is a huge issue.

I was stating a pretty simple logic of Alia replacing her lost followers with bots to save her face. Issme aapko diagonals nazar aa rahi toh that's your problem. 😆

This isn't related to Sushant or Kangana. Mumbai police has been arresting people that run these companies that provide fake followers. Mid-Day has a big front page story about it but now it can't be seen without a subscription.

What these people do is identity theft. They make accounts in other people's names and then have them follow the celebs that have paid them for fake followers. There are almost 70 companies that are doing this. These types of followers probably won't even show up as 'fake' in those silly online audits that people do. That's why celebs pay for them instead of just using bots which anyone with IT experience in that can do.

Priyanka and Deepika's names must have come up somehow during these arrests. More names will come out soon probably. It's not like they're going to get arrested. They would probably just be witnesses and they can dump the blame on their PR or agency.

Mid-Day is saying 10 celebrities have bought fake followers from these people. The two named so far are Deepika and Priyanka.

Deepika definitely has fake followers.
