I think now the covid positive figures have become irrelevant in Mumbai/Maharashtra. Irrespective of less or more testing the deaths in Maharashtra are pretty steady at around 250 per day. Covid deaths cannot be hidden and have to be reported so that should be a reliable figure to go by. Even the govt. now seems to be just intent in controlling the death rate as due to lockdown fatigue people are least bothered about strictly following norms.
In Mulund, the local corporator used to put out a video every night about the positive cases detected that day within the ward and warning of dire consequences if distancing norms were not followed. Now he has stopped giving those figures and also stopped warning people to follow distancing norms.
