She’s not a natural ...all her acting looks laboured to me. Like she’s really trying to prove “look look I can act plz take me seriously and praise me” instead of just being the character....

Yes, I didn't like her perf. in Padmavat - that was a weak perf. But apart from that, her filmography is studded with gems since 2012 Cocktail.

I think I had actually started to believe what the forum says that she is an average actress, so I just wanted to refresh my memory. And boy, was I pleasantly surprised. Even in a movie like Kartik Calling Kartik, she easily overshadowed Farhan in every scene they were together.

She is one of those rare actresses with good screen presence,looks, charisma, X-factor and acting chops. I am proud to be her fan❤️

slb killed all of Deepika's growth as an actor

she was amazing in ram Leela and just was given a very short stick after that for the benefit of her husband.

Biggest shortcoming of Deepika is her bad and monotonous dialogue delivery. She is so flat in voicing her emotions, to me she sounds the same whether angry, happy, sad etc.

After all these years in BW she never improved in her dialogue delivery.

To me showing only expressions does not make a good actor, they need to be able to portray the same emotions through their voice & body language, thats where Deepika falters her voice & body language.

She isn't good with expressions either.

Because she is always trying to act and not love the character. The only time she wasn't trying was in Chennai Express and to some extent in Piku.

And that is what is true about almost every mainstream actor and actress in most of the movies in every industry. They may act great in some movies, but others are just done for it should be done.

But than again BW movies have never been about acting, it has always been about movie stars being able to carry the movie with their presence, and Deepika is good in that.

Deepika is just decent , nothing great..her dialog delivery is her biggest weakness.. she is pretty poor in emoting too.. i liked her in CE, piku and to some extent in cocktail and ram leela.

Other than in Piku, I never felt like she lived her character and believed in them. Sad because she has the potential, really.

She gives passable expressions, true about BW that industry is more about glamour than acting. There are very few who actually want to act, rest are just okay with being mediocre.

I guess have never been into star culture, like to see acting .

Which is why the likes of Alia stand out who'd have been considered average or even below average beside a Sridevi or a Juhi or a Rani
