Movies similar to Raincoat

Do you guys know other movies where the screenplay is so strong that it doesn't need any fancy set just great actors? I am in love with this movie and fell in love with Aish (I know she is not that great actress but she rocked in this one). The only movie I thought which came close to it was "Lootera"

Suggest some movies with great screenplay.

I know Choker Bali is made by the similar director and is pretty good too.

Raincoat's idea was taken from the short story The Gift of the Magi and Lootera's The Last Leaf.

Yeah read that in IMDB reviews. Yet efforts should be applauded to present us a masterpiece.

The difference between Rituparno and other directors who adapted from western literature is the latters usually try to keep the original's settings/milieu (hence the use of Shimla/Kashmir/British made hill stations), but Rituparno used to make it local.
