Ramanand Sagar's version is about the emotion and authenticity of retelling a historical epic. Yes the graphics were bad, the vfx was chalky, but the effort they put in to make the show was what makes it so iconic.
The show's objective was spreading awareness about Ramayan, it wasn't monetary. Thats why it touches your heart. Coz it feels real and genuine not just a product made to earn from.
There has never been a better Ram, Sita, Lakshman...name the cast and the casting was apt. Yes the new MB was great with special effects, but I couldn't see the historical people in the actors if ukwim.
Whereas looking at Arun Govil you get the feeling that haan bhagwaan Ram aise hi honge. The closest any current show got to such apt casting was DKDM...until Sati's death that is. Post that they only got bigger names and popular faces.
Royalties are traditionally not supposed to be given to actors, because they earn the most from shows. However this is an exception case. The only reason actors started demanding royalties in the West was because since they did such iconic characters, there was a chance they wouldn't break out of that image or get any roles. Thats why the cast of shows like Friends, TBBT, The Office get royalties. So the cast should get royalties but it depends on their contracts and if Sagar Arts manages to draw a new one if possible.
True. Ramanand Sagar Ji had vision & devotion. Emotions matter not CGI VFX. Whenever I think of lord Ram & Sita the first image which comes to my mind is of Arun ji & Deepika ji & not of any idol or painting. Such powerful was the image.
I literally cry while watching each episode of Ramayan. Just listen to the dialogues & bhajan. It's all about true love, sacrifice, responsibility, morals, devotion, loyalty.
When trijata offer's food to sita she refuses to eat royal food saying how can she do so if her husband is having falaahar in the jungle. And after Sita goes to jungle Ram decides to sleep on the floor and not on royal bed. He keeps her idol while doing ashwamedh yagna... This is pure love.♥️
The ending when Sita goes in the earth she tells her mother "mujhe apne saath le chalo maa, yahan nari ka aadar nahi hota"... Sadly it's true even now😔
It's sad that today's tiktok generation will never understand. We need to learn about our culture rather than copying western ppl all the time.
Btw Starplus quality is better. Doordarshan really needs to improve.
