1. Kadambari Devi was completely aloof from the other women of Tagore family, because she considered herself a cut above them and her superiority complex alienated them further. She never tried to befriend them as opposed to Gyanadanandini Devi , who though far more educated , accomplished and enlightened than Kadambari , still maintained warm relationship with other women of the family.

2. Gyandanandini Devi was the most wonderful women of Tagore family, other than Indira Devi , you can say crown jewel. Every thing you said about her was full of lies and full of spite nothing else. Rabindranath used to held her in high esteem too and besotted to her daughter. I can't be bothered to enlighten you about her many fold achievements and great contribution towards Women liberation movement of Bengal and India. A truly remarkable Lady who stands and shine on her own merit as opposed to Kadambari Devi who was mainly talked about so much because she was muse to the great poet.

3. "Forced to turn " my foot. She was given too much love , adoration , training and teaching by her husband who always stood by her and even after Tagore's marriage when he became infatuated with his newly married wife Bhabatarini Devi and Kadambari Devi became lonely and depressed ( which eventually led to her suicide ) her husband was her sole confidante as they exchanged many letters.

Kadambari and Rabindranath were close because they were of similar age and grew up together and though she was blessed with the best husband any woman could hope of dream for , she fell for the brother in law instead , It's not her fault . But her tragic fate is not any one else's fault either.

You are probably watching too many Saas Bahu shows nowadays.

You don't seem much educated about the Tagore family in general. Yes, everyone and their child is aware about the accomplishments of Gyanadanandini, especially the fact that she was highly educated and one of the first Indian women to travel overseas solo. And also the fact she established the first children's mag in Bengali, other than arranging and taking part in plays which was prohibited back then to women. But if we're talking about the most accomplished woman in the Tagore household, then that would be Swarnakumari Devi, the first female Bengali novelist.

It's a well-known fact that Kadamvari was neglected and looked down upon by others in the family since she was dark-complexioned and from a poor family. The only thing her husband did for her is to teach her horse-riding. 😆

And@Bold: Seriously??!! God, you REALLY need to read more. She was married off at the age of 10, how would she be "aloof and consider herself superior" in such an enlightened household where she was a misfit in so many ways? She was dark, not very educated, from a very poor family, was childless and thus was consistantly looked down upon by her female peers. Your statement beggars common sense.

Also, I think you're confusing Jyotirindranath with Satyendranath, Gyanada's husband. 😆 Satyendranath played a no small part in Gyanada's liberal ways, and yet she cheated on him with his brother.

I have no hate for Gyanada, she was one of the most enlightened women of the 19th century in Bengal. But that doesn't mean one should be a blind admirer while dissecting historical figures.

More than the novella by Tagore, Bulbbul seems to have taken inspiration from its film rendition 'Charulata' by Satyajit Ray in its depiction of Satya-Bulbbul dynamic. The scene at the garden where Bulbbul is on a swing, humming gently to herself, and Satya lounging nearby with a book, is a recreation of an iconic scene from the movie (the only difference being the presence of the other characters in the background).

He was also an artist painter, actor , poet and lyricist of renown and fluent in many foreign languages. Some scholars considers him as more talented than his Rabindranath himself.

Big difference with Indra Nath.

Word . Kadambari Devi was never able to love his husband, not because there was anything wrong with Jyotirindranth Thakur but because sometimes we can't control who we love...and of course because Rabi literally wrote all his earlier poems for her and made her feel special in a way her husband could not ( another big difference with Satya and Bulbul here ) . Kadamvari felt lonely when Rabi got married and become extremely enamored with his bride...she did try to stop his marriage which did not work . 😔
