Bulbbul- inspired by Tagorean tales? - Page 2

Is their any way I could read Robind Tagore's work translated? I have heard so much about him. Netflix use to have series or something based on his works.

Except the fact that Rabindranath's elder brother Jyotirindranath Thakur was extremely handsome ( even more than Rabindranath ) and an extremely tolerant, progressive and feminist person. Whatever education art and culture his wife received was from him only and he always encouraged and advocated for women's rights and their freedom and he started the mission from home. He was also an artist painter, actor , poet and lyricist of renown and fluent in many foreign languages. Some scholars considers him as more talented than his Rabindranath himself.

Big difference with Indra Nath.

Thnx! I have kindle but not kindle unlimited. I might upgrade. He was mentioned a lot in the novel “Bengali Nights” I read last summer.

Ahh I see 😊 ....heard about that book...didn't read it but I read Na Hanyate (Maitreyi Devi) i.e. the other side of the story....MD was personally very close to Tagore, naturally anything related to her life is bound to have some Tagore reference.

But he was also a cheater who had an affairs with sister-in-law Gyanadanandini Devi and Binodini Dasi.

Fun fact: This has also been referenced in Bulbul where Bulbul's hubby had an affair with HIS bhabhi Binodini. 😆

What about his wife who was also a cheater who had an affair with her brother in law that everyone knew about.

So yeah both of them are cheaters and they still had immense respect and love for each other and great friends. They'd an understanding.

Let's not paint him as a bad person who he was definitely not. Because really, he was almost shockingly tolerant for even today's age , forget about those days. He never took any steps to pry away his wife from her lover as he loved them both and wanted them to be happy.

Also, she was FORCED to turn to Tagore for emotional comfort BECAUSE of her husband's infidelity and indifference towards her. And Gyanadanandini Devi was sort of a vamp sister in law straight out of a saas bahu soap. So yeah, full sympathies to Kadambari Devi there. She had nobody to call her own. And her hubby and bitch jethani was to blame for it.

Every single thing you said was factually incorrect, so really why not do some research before opening your mouth.

1. Kadambari Devi was completely aloof from the other women of Tagore family, because she considered herself a cut above them and her superiority complex alienated them further. She never tried to befriend them as opposed to Gyanadanandini Devi , who though far more educated , accomplished and enlightened than Kadambari , still maintained warm relationship with other women of the family.

2. Gyandanandini Devi was the most wonderful women of Tagore family, other than Indira Devi , you can say crown jewel. Every thing you said about her was full of lies and full of spite nothing else. Rabindranath used to held her in high esteem too and besotted to her daughter. I can't be bothered to enlighten you about her many fold achievements and great contribution towards Women liberation movement of Bengal and India. A truly remarkable Lady who stands and shine on her own merit as opposed to Kadambari Devi who was mainly talked about so much because she was muse to the great poet.

3. "Forced to turn " my foot. She was given too much love , adoration , training and teaching by her husband who always stood by her and even after Tagore's marriage when he became infatuated with his newly married wife Bhabatarini Devi and Kadambari Devi became lonely and depressed ( which eventually led to her suicide ) her husband was her sole confidante as they exchanged many letters.

Kadambari and Rabindranath were close because they were of similar age and grew up together and though she was blessed with the best husband any woman could hope of dream for , she fell for the brother in law instead , It's not her fault . But her tragic fate is not any one else's fault either.

You are probably watching too many Saas Bahu shows nowadays.
