India is more obsessed with fair skin than anything else. India doesn't have the "white privilege" issue that is rampant in the US. So there's racism of one kind in the US, which isn't the same as the fair skin obsession in India.

For example, India would never have a problem with Plessy, who was 1/8th black but looked white and could have ridden the "white classified" train. But he was still considered "black" in the US in those times, and therefore not equal to others, and was asked to board the "classified black" train. So... NO, the so called "racism" in India is NOT the same as the racism in US that comes with a big baggage of slavery and black history.

It's interesting that you say the African slave inhabitants have the same right as "an Indian citizen", are they not an Indian citizen then? Genuine question as I don't know a whole lot about it. Only know of the Siddis and there is surely racism against them. You could've just said all Indian citizen, even the ones of African descent have the same right.

India doesn't have a similar history with African slavery but doesn't mean there isn't racism. There are lots of Africans who visit India, study there or go for jobs who are victims of racism. So no not the same history of racism, but India definitely has racism like most parts of the world.

They are not African inhabitants. They are Indian citizens.

I was describing their origins in the country.

Still exists today. They also forgot to add when Kareena referred to Bipasha as 'kali billi' as an insult.

Gore Gore Mukhde Pe Kala Kala Chashma

Chittiyan Kaliyan Ve oh baby meri White Kaliyan Ve

Kala Chashma Jachda Hai Gore Mukhde Pe

Gora Gora Rang Kare Mundeya Nu Tang Ni Gore Hathan Vich Laal Choodha Chanke

There are many more. Playing into stereotypes is the highest form of stupidity and why the South Asian society is 10 years behind.
