You guys are letting your hate overtake you now. Alia was fantastic in Gully Boy and she was definitely one of the reasons for pulling in the crowd to see the film. She might have gotten it because of connections but at the end of day it's hard to complain when she was so good in it.

I can understand not liking her in Kalank and when she tries to do those stupid item songs but how are you going to try to bring her down for Gully Boy? She had a small role but she stole the show as did Siddhanth.

Sure Hirani might flop in the future but I can guarantee that currently, you and I will feel more confident buying a ticket to a Hirani movie vs a RGV movie.

I never said Alia is unsuccessful. I stated in my first post that I was a huge Alia fan, until Kalank. That's when I realized that she is only as good as the script/content of the movie. Whereas for other hit actors, they have so many crap movies that became hits just because they starred in it.

I never denied her not taking advantage of opportunities. I liked her in the film, could another actress do her role. Yes. It was well written and she had the best lines. Would they get the same attention, no. That the point of this whole conversation.
When you have rani, Priyanka as actors being nominated too..I’m sorry I’m going to overlook her performance.

She is just 12 films old, actors you naming have tons of films experience behind them, give her some time, she will come as the winner.

It was directed by the same guy who made Dangal and it was promoted like that too. You can't have it both ways. Either SSR was doing well because these big guys were doing films with him or he was being screwed by the industry on purpose - KJo was deliberately sinking his money to make bad films like Drive and releasing them on OTT to spite SSR in order to help all the jealous star kids.
