My point is that Alia Bhatt hasn't made a bad movie a hit yet. I don't see any films on her list where you scratch you head wondering how they became a hit. All her hit movies were great content and her bad content movies were unsuccessful.

This. Her performance in Kalank was utter crap too. And the reason she lucked out, because the nepotism forces overlooked Kalank and focused on gully boy which she won an award for a 10 min role. If this was anyone else, this would not happen. How you are portrayed my media outlets, social media sites matters and someone is definitely helping dismiss weaknesses on her part.

Wrong... In 2014, Imtiaz Ali was considered one of the top filmmakers after directing 3 back to back hits (Jab We Met, Love Aaj Kal, & Rockstar) and writing Cocktail. Jab We Met & Rockstar went on to win every award. So he was a big deal in 2014.

Not to mention, they used Ranbir (who had absolutely NOTHING to do with Highway) to promote Highway.

OT: From SOTY, what has Alia proven to have gotten performance oriented meaty roles that revolve around her character?! Sure, other actresses might've had a similar frequency but it is not about the frequency. The scale of the film, quality of the film, meaty role written keeping HER in mind, PR, promotions, fake relationships, etc. ALL play a role. Roles are written and manufactured for her. Which one of Alia's roles have you heard that someone else was considered or she had to audition? NONE. Because those films were already for her. She was being compared to Maryl Streep after a average performance in Humpty Sharma.

Why didn't they promote Arushi Sharma during Love Aaj Kal 2 promotions? Arushi gave a MUCH better performance than Sara. Sara was the weakest link in that film out of Kartik, Randeep, and Arushi. If that film became a hit, it would be considered her hit even through she sucked.

No one cares if you are successful anymore. People care about how you gained your success. I find nothing admirable on how she’s gained success. She can be hardworking, and that’s commendable. But I ain’t gonna idealize her path to success as much as I would for say a Priyanka Chopra.

Ok, if Karan Johar can decide good script/content, how come he has 13 Disaster/Flop films from his Production House? He has lost huge money in them, he gained back from big hits, but lost much.

Rajkumar Hirani started off as Mediocre Director, ppl didn't even give 2 hoots to Munnabhai, it was Sleeper HIT of that year, became Big with 3 Idiots, yes he has 100% track record till now, but he will be judged by his next film always, a time might come he will start giving Failures, which everyone has faced, at that time you can't be sure if his films are good or not.

Which by the end always comes to the AUDIENCE, Every Friday they decide who will stay or who will go. Alia is hated for having Success only, that's the whole point, her success is termed as how can it be a success, her trolling is based on that only coz her films got success/name.

Honestly, priyanka's small roles like kashibai are also memorable. Alia's role in gully boy was easily forgettable.

Regarding your last statement, these nepotism gangs have resorted to even buying the number of screens that show their movies. And preventing other movies from releasing the same way. So who's to say that box offices numbers truly reflect audience choices.

SSR's Sonchiriya is a DISASTER film, the same film which should have been BIG HIT, the same film which should have been BIG HIT in BIHAR as we can see how much they love SSR, let me add, it did 13 lacs business in BIHAR which is 1300 ppl only watched that film in Bihar & today we see ppl burning effigies of celebs as if they did harm to SSR. Who stopped ppl of Bihar from watching Sonchiriya, they could have at least helped it get Average or even HIT Verdict?
