People need to know the whole context of this. Someone just can't pick up a joke from a roast and present it like, see these big wigs of BW are racists. They maybe racist, but this video isn't a proof, it is a freaking manipulation of facts.

Now, to answer your question, when it came out people were divided on this.

Most of the old school leftists, right wing and traditional youth bashed it left, right and center. The anti establishment liberals, modern leftists and carefree youth audience saying it is freedom of expression and speech. So yes in a way majority of Indians didn't support this, it was only supported by those who are the most active participants of BLM, aka the liberal groups.

I personally didn't have any issue with it, besides it not being as funny as I predicted it to be, because most of the insults were about sex, body and more sex, especially gay sex. It was like Kjo fulfilling his fantasies of getting gang banged publicly.

Although Aamir raised good points that roast should be of those who subscribed for it, not those who were not present like Reema Lagoo, Arpita Khan and Farida Jalal. See those who went their, they knew the show would have the nastiest, vilest and most downright offensive insults.

So I don't think, we can use a video from this roast and say someone is a bigot of any kind, because the whole roast was not meant to be taken seriously.

It's a comedy roast. They make worse(racist, homophobi, whatever) jokes in the original comedy central roast. People should use some brains before pointing out.
