Chapter 12 – Mr Bose

Rishab was going to meet Mr.Bose that day. After Menaka’s death he had shifted to an older home in Delhi. It was a massive house mostly a haveli you can say but now was turned into a hotel and Mr Bose lived in one part of it. The servant informed him that he was in the dining hall having lunch.

Mr Anirudh Bose – Meneka’s father didn’t come from some royal family that you are guessing. He was a self-made man and had worked day and night to be where he is today and that is what had been the base of his relationship with Rishab. But that doesn’t mean he didn’t look regal in this place. Exact posture, proper etiquette and hand movements. He was used to getting whatever he wanted and made no apologies but time had also been harsh with him and you could see the lines of hard work,stress and loneliness under his eyes. What his own daughter had done to him had hit him hard so hard that he couldn’t recover from it and went into almost isolation and came out only when Menaka died and Rishab had to practically drag him out. So now Rishab was the only person who he talked to except for his servants.

“Ek aur paratha” Mr Bose

“No need, he is done. You are supposed to be eating healthy” Mr Bajaj

“Aa gaya meri jaan khane aur kya band karwayega” Rishab smiled and touched his feet.

“Kaise hain aap” Mr bajaj

“10 packs laga kar bhi hosh main rehne ki aadat hain mujhe” But Mr Bose didn’t pay heed, washed his hands and walked towards the balcony. While they were sitting having coffee in the evening Rishab broke the topic.

“Menaka gave her 20% shares to Kukki which makes 60% and me owner of Bose industries, so pack your bags.” The mention of Menaka’s name hit him like a rock and he shouted “Get out” and started to leave

“Mere liye na sahi, kukki se milne chaliye.” And Mr bose stopped in his tracks.

“Kukki!!! She was 2 years old when I last saw her properly. nino that is what she used to call me. and then once or twice with you when you came to me and I could tell she didn’t like it.Kitni Badi ho gayi hogi na, How old?”

“8 years but you will wish she was small and 2 years old. She is livewire and ready to take over the world” and they both started to laugh.

“Wow!!!! Is She. Menaka was also. See I can’t I can’t do this. Aur Kyun kar raha hain, maine aaj tak kabhi Menaka aur tere beech main kabhi tujhe support nahin kiya it was always her. Tujhe aur Kukki ko kitni takleef hui then why?”

“I am a father we all do stupid things for our daughter.”

“Main to Kukki se mila bhi nahin itne saal, not even when she was sick. Tujhe sab kuch akele karna pada. I could have been there I could have been there.”

“To ab mil lijiye”

“Aur who jab pochegi ki mai kyun nahin aaya use milne main kaha tha and all. Plus I could see that she didn’t want to meet me.”

“You will be surprised by how easily our daughters can forgive us and make us their friend. I know Kukki would adore you once she gets to know you properly”

“Aur Prerna use kaisa lagega agar main galti se Menaka ki baat karunga uske saamne? Kya kahegi who why I am suddenly so interested”

“So, you are coming?”

“Rishi I am not sure” Mr Bose was confused but the lure of meeting his only granddaughter was enough for him to take the risk.

“Your flight is at 10 am tomorrow morning, car has been arranged. I will see you at lunch. The servants have packed your bags. See you soon.”

“You know I let you win”

“Yes” but his face said something different

“Never seen this confidence before. No insecurity no fear nothing. You were never scared of anything before also but today its different”

“Having something worth living for gives you the confidence and the strength”

And for the first time he wanted to go to Rishab’s house and see what it was that gave this man so much confidence that he believed he can defeat him or that calmness and satisfaction in his eyes that he had never seen before.

Prerna was with the kids in their room playing with them. Rishab had called to tell her that Mr Bose will be coming tomorrow. Kukki came and sat near her.

“Kya hua hain?”

“Kuch nahin”

“Bachi nahin hoon bata sakti hoon mujhe”

“Kuch nahin”

“Isliye papa tumhe aise dekhte hain jaise cartoon ka mad max villain hain who has taken over the world and you look like you want to” and did the sign to die near neck

“Kuch jyada hi badi baatein nahin karne lagi ho tum”

“It’s not easy being Prerna and Rishab Bajaj’s daughter. Puri baat batane ki zaroorat nahin hain summary bata do”

“Fine game khel rahin hain and he is winning or he won”

“Game ke terms” Kukki asked and Prerna started to look the other way

“Fine minus specifics are difficult but just use the age-old formula” and did the cutest and saddest face that she can make. Prerna looked at her confused.

“Seriously how did my father fell for you” Prerna looked at her aghast

“Right sorry I chose you my mistake. To aur kya bolu, Game kiske saath khel rahin hoon, MR Bajaj ke saathya papa ke saath. Mr Bajaj ko nahin hara paogi. Mere papa to khud tumse haarjaenge” Prerna was still confused.

“Hey bhagwan - I know I suck at basketball but have I ever lost to him, ever, except if I have a match and he wants to teach me something” and Prerna nodded and finally smirking just like she had seen that man smirk.

“Good class over” and Kukki raised her palm jokingly as if giving her blessing and Prerna hailed infront of Kukki.

Too much convincing for a person who would create problem in the future🤔

Mr. Bose is guilty as he blindly supported his daughter and never did anything atleast for Kukki in these years. Why Bajaj wants to take him home

Mr. Bose wants to see what changed in Rishabh's life for the changes in him, Interesting.
