My one relative that I mentioned is the only problematic one and sometimes some extended family members might say something that is kinda weird but I think it's due to generation gap and a little bit of cultural difference. But again, your mom can attest to this....culture in Benaras vs Mumbai is super different! My dad grew up in Maharashtra and was so disappointed when he moved to UP because the culture was so different. Kinda like here....the culture in my state is different from NY...

yeah that's true but at least we can relate as desi ppl outside if India...like you said, culture varies from place to place...from US to India...etc..

So, my college had a decent amount of Indian-Americans and some International students. In my opinion, I always found the Indian students from India to be a lot more friendlier than Indian-Americans. Idk...the Indian-American kids at my college were weird...they are all from this city in my state which is considered "elite" so they all act as if they are from Beverly Hills so I think that also contributes to their judgmental attitude.

I think my mom adds milk to tea. I just asked what kind of tea she uses, it's called Wagh Bakri. Then you can buy chai masala at the indian store and add a pinch of it to your tea. My mom sometimes makes her own masala at home....she just takes existing spices and grinds it up...pretty easy

Thank you buddy......that's so nice of you to share the recipe.....I'll surely try sometime soon...........

Yeah....i'm dealing with similar issues but with extended family...it's easier to cut off friends who become toxic but what do you do with toxic relatives?

@bold........simply ignore them........

There was a lot of violence in my city yesterday. I work in an area where there could be potential riots so I'm a bit worried....this is all really scary. But, I understand people's anger as this has gone too far now and on top of that the president is glorifying police brutality against protestors!!

Same...this is very serious. My city said if anyone is seen out, they will get arrested and fined. The govt brought this upon themselves...first they didn't do anything then when they did...the charged the officer with 3rd degree instead of 1st degree..now they are attacking protestors. Honestly, the protests have been peaceful until the police arrives

over here the nypd is showing solidarity by bending their knees ...i wish the govt realizes that trump shouldn't run for the next 4 years...sometimes, we can get the unexpected & another leader should be stepping in with a sane mind rather than having democrats & republicans do much of the voting

@bold - good! This is what we need. If they stand there quietly, don't do anything, and turn a blind eye...they are also part of the problem!

Pfft...another leader with a sane mind? Like who? Pence? Don't even get me started with that guy. If he becomes president, he will be worse than Trump because he's knows what he is doing....he's actually kinda evil tbh
