Honestly, that's how the system was built....against the disadvantaged. Also, the violence against African Americans has existed since they were kidnapped and enslaved here in America starting in the 17th century. They have face discrimination and violence constantly for four centuries! Racism is so deeply rooted in American history and it will be so difficult to cleanse it from people's minds.

lol sometimes i feel like the 13-15th amendments are useless tbh...no matter how much we try to spread the message against racism, it will still be engrained in our system

So, I didn't even know KKK STILL existed until I was in Junior year of high school. I was in AP US History and someone mentioned about the KKK chapter in our town. I was so shocked. I asked if Nazis are banned then KKK should also be banned as it is also a hate group inciting violence. One of my friends, literally said well Nazi did worse things and killed more people than KKK so it's "not as bad". I was so outraged...I was like they are both spreading hate and promoting violence...they are the SAME because they have the same ideology.

LOL US history is so dark...and we were given such a wishy-washy version of it in school....we were literally told that the civil war happened to end slavery...BS! If African American rights were so important to people back then, all this would not be happening today. Tbh when I grew up and learned the truth (thanks to APUSH) and did some research on my own, I realized that everything we were taught was a lie....and a lot of people live their lives believing that lie because they don't try to learn more beyond what was taught to us so that ignorance lives on.

lol they still existed...in my APUSH & APGOV classes, KKK still existed & unless some politician who has the audacity to eradicate such groups, it will exist...no matter how much we preach against racism & inequality, these cases will continue to grow..

Oh yeah I know that they still exist till today but at that age, I was under the impression that they didn't exist as they were condemned when we discussed US History. As a naive teen, I was like oh if it's bad then why does it still exist....but some people think differently! Same argument can go for gun control!

nahh, violent acts & violent groups, no matter what type of injustice exists, will continue to do crap & the govt will deem it as either 'constitutional" or not...its just like not believing that santa claus even exists or not...

I think if you are a minority in America, we all face racism. So many Chinese-Americans were attacked during the pandemic. Latinos are facing racism over deportation and the whole detention center thing that happened with the kids. After, 9/11 so many South Asians were attacked. A lot of people think racism is just black/white but it goes beyond that and all races are affected. One time, this kid in high school made a racist comment at me and when I called him out he literally said, "But I have black friends"....then I proceeded to explain him that other races also exist and that if you say something offensive about them, it's still racist. But, unfortunately I've even seen minorities being racist to each other also....that needs to stop too
