The people who lost property are not the city or government. There are small business owners who are already impacted by COVID. This is just obfuscation making it seem like those who got looted are all somehow guilty and deserves it.

I support this thoroughly! Instead of destroying small properties and establishments, this is what should happen. Dismantling everything related to this era.

Couple of years ago when I did a US tour of sorts, I was very shocked to see the amount of props relating to this era literally everywhere. I don't know how monuments and structures reminiscent of the people who did the most vile things to black people could still be allowed. I remember a colleague telling me that so many states have laws that discourage taking them down. But aren't these constant reminders of their most hurtful past to America's black citizens? Why should they exist in public places. This is no culture or time period to be proud of.

This looting, arson and vandalism has become more about criminal activities rather justice for George Flyod. Two wrongs do not make a right. This protest could have lead to better result against racism, instead it has diluted whole movement. Innocent people and their business should not be targeted while demanding justice for another set of innocent people. I m happy that there was peaceful protest in my city.
