Chapter 8

Khurana Mansion

SidNi got off the car and stood at the entrance, when Simran signaled them to stop. Simran did the aarti.

Then Roshni pushed the bowl of rice with her foot as she lifted her sari.

Simran invited her in.

As Roshni went in she left red footprints behind her.

Simran stopped them,

"kya hua mom" he asked.

"Siddharth it is a ritual for the husband to lift his wife until the living room" Simran said.

Siddharth smiled silently to him while she blushed, then he lifted her in his arms.

She held his neck while resting her head on his shoulder.

She could hear his heart beats, indeed that's where she belongs.

He then brought her down as they reached the living room.

Both sat on the sofa while the others were preparing for the ring ceremony.

Both their eyes met. 

They stared at each other. 

Faint smiles were in their faces.

A bowl of milk with rose petals on top was placed in front of them.

They knew what they should do.

"bai mein toh apni bahu ki saath hun" Simran said.

"haan mein bhi" Raj to joined her.

"mein bhi" Kritika said.

"mein bhi haan" Yash also supported.

"arre not fair..." Siddharth, "meri side kon hai...koi hai" he acted like searching for someone.

"mein hun...tumare saath hamesha hamesha ke liye... Roshni said.

Siddharth was in shock. 

He knew that she was marrying him for her mother's sake but he didn't know that he would be accepted by her this soon.

Did she really accept him or was she acting?

Siddharth looked at her with a confused look, to which she gave a reassuring smile making him understand that she is acting.

"ai hai, mari jaanvan main" Simran said.

Then SidNi both put their hands in the bowl. SidNi blushed the whole time.

While searching for the ring SidNi hands came in contact many times but they just ignored it.

After a few minutes both couldn't find the ring and they were tired to keep moving their hands.

Siddharth suddenly caught Roshni's hand which made her gasp.

She looked at him confusedly.

"what are you doing" she whispered so none could hear.

"if i'm not wrong they are pranking us" he whispered back.

"what?"

"yes..."

"how do you know?"

"both of us are searching for the ring but we couldn't succeed so seedhe se baat hai ke they are pranking us"

"toh ab kya karein"

"ab yeh karein" saying this he removed the ring she was already wearing in her right finger.

"I got it" Siddharth said as he took his hand out of the bowl with Roshni's ring.

Yash and Kritika were suprised while the elders were happy.

"Uffo meri beti nahi jeeti...koi baat nahi the ring is going to be her only no" Simran said.

"arre yeh kya Yash and Kritika kya hua?" he teased.

"Ku...ku...kuch bhi nahi" Yash said

"Kuch bhi nahi" he teased again, while Roshni was trying to control her laughter.

"haan kuch bhi nahi" Kritika said,

"accha kuch bhi nahi..." he said while getting up and went towards Yash.

"toh yeh kya hai" he said while taking the ring from Yash kurta pocket.

"yeh.." Yash got tensed as he was receiving stares from Simran.

"uffo Sid main bulgayi thi...instead of putting this ring I think i used the wrong ring.." Kritika lied.

"oh tum bulgayi thi...toh phir Roshni ke haath mein ring kyun nahi hai" he smiled.

"fine Sid you win" Yash groans making the others understand his and Kritika's plan.

Then SidNi started to find the ring again which was put by Yash for real.

Siddharth caught her hand again.

She glared at him and said, "ab kya hua"

"kuch nahi hua, bus aise hi" he winked at her making her blush.

She then managed to take her hand out of his.

Then Roshni took the ring out of the bowl.

"yayy meri beti jeet gayi" Simran exclaimed.

Then Siddharth went on his knees while taking the ring from her hand.

He slid the ring down her finger, then kissing her knuckles making her blush.

"okay bai ab hai mehendi ritual, aur isme Sid tujhe apni naam Roshni ki mehendi mein dundni chahiye, okay toh abh shuru karo" Simran explained him.

Siddharth then started to find his name in her mehendi.

But he just couldn't.

"urrgghh...yaar its not here"

"its not here ka matlab"

"matlab you have not written my name...but"

"but"

"ai hai...kaise kar sakti ho tum Roshni, main tumara pati hun aur tumne kya kya naam...chi chi"

"kya bol rahi ho Siddharth"

"yeh bol rahan hun ki you have not written my name badle mein poore ke poore Bollywood industry isme hai"

"kya"

"haan...dekho yehaan its SRK aur yehaan its Salman khan aur yehaan Hritik Roshan aur yehaan Ranbir kapoor aur kya kya chi chi" he teased her.

"what yeh kaise ho sakta... dekho yahin tok likha hena Siddharth" she said while showing him the correct place.

"bhai yehaan hai, i've found it" he said while showing his name on her hand.

"yeh tune cheating kiya"

"mein a koi cheating veating nahi kiya this is known as tactics baby" he winked at her making her blush.

"Sid tum sach main apni baap pe ghay ho, even Rajji did the same thing" Simran laughed,

"arre seriously kya...dekhlijiye like dad like son" Siddharth said while laughing.

"yeh rasm toh khatam hoagyi bai aur ab baari hai knots ki" Simran said while giving two threads to Siddharth and Roshni.

"ab tum dono ki haat mein this thread will be tied, its a belief that whoever unties first has the upper hand in the household meaning between the two" 

Kritika tied the thread on Siddharth's hand while Yash tied it on Roshni's hand.

"start" Raj said.

SidNi with one hand were trying to open the knots with one hand. As they knots were too tight they were taking much time.

Both were struggling yet they tried their best.

After few moments both felt that the thread was getting loose so not wanting to loose they tried to open the thread even faster.

The Khuranas laughed seeing the bond between them.

"kuch bhi hojai Rajji par yeh dono hamesha kush rahni chahiye" Simran whispered,

"haan Simmi"

"Siddharth ke thread mein sirf ek knot bachi hai" Kritika said,

"same here" Yash said while seeing Roshni's thread,

"iska matlab hema hamara winner milne wala hai"

SidNi both took the thread out of the other's hand at the same moment.

"oh my god, isme bhi saathi, wah wah" Kritika teased,

SidNi were smiling at each other ignoring the teasing of the others.

"uffo, yeh kya hai bai" Bua Daadi said while hitting her palm on her forehead, breaking SidNi eye lock.

"kya hua Bidi" 

"tum log ko pata nahin, ai wahe guru ab aap ko hi sambalna hai" she exclaimed,

"kya hua bua daadhi" Siddharth asked with a worried face.

"yeh hua ki tum dono is dhaaga ko kholna mein bohat waqt lagaadhi toh iska matlab hai agar aap dono ki beech mein koi jagda hua na toh tum dono mein bohat waqt ki baad hi pyaar aur bacha agyega... aur woh bacha bhi bohot mushkil se ayega" Siddharth witnessed that Roshni was hurt by Bua daadhi's talks.

"bua daadhi can you please shut it" anger was evident in his voice, "aap ko samaj nahi aati kya?!" he was interrupted by Roshni who gestured him to be quiet.

"nahi Siddharth yeh hamse badi hain, aur hame apni badi ho ki baat sunni hi hogi" she said. "aur ab yeh sab karke tum mood mat kharaab karo" 

"haan Roshni beta tune sahi baat bolo, aur Bidi aaj accha din hai, hamari bachon ki shaadi hui hai, toh acha mood mein reh sakte hena" Raj said.

Siddharth left the living room,

"maa mein dekhti hun" Yash said and went behind Siddharth.

"aoi Roshni mein tumari kamra dikhati hun" Kritika said

Kritika brought Roshni to his bedroom or rather SidNi's bedroom. 

Roshni had been to his room numerous times. So many sweet memories resided in that room.

Her eyes welled up with tears.

"kya hua Roshni" Kritika nugded her,

"k..kuch nahi...aank mein kuch chala gaya" Roshni lied wiping the lone tear.

"Roshni tume mujhse jhoot bolne ki zarurat nahi hai" Kritika hugged Roshni.

"I don't know what happened between you two, and I also know that you and even Sid also married each other only of our families' sake... mein yeh nahi kahugha ki forget the past focus on the future blah blah and stuff, what i'm telling you is, you have to make a promise to me"

"promise, kaise promise"

"ki whatever happens between you two, you should share not only to me but to someone, promise"

"promise" Roshni smiled.

"and give your relationship a chance"

Soon Kritika left leaving Roshni alone.

Roshni stood against the patio window. 

Siddharth entered his room only to see the ethereal beauty standing in his room after so many years.

He admired her.

Moonlight fell on her making her look even more beautiful.

He noticed this sadness in her face.

"tum teek toh ho na?" he asked.

"huh" she turned to see him.

"you okay" he said while coming towards her.

"haan i'm fine"

"toh yeh kyun" he said while wiping the lone tear lingering in her cheek, "Roshni you can tell me" he cupped her cheeks.

Suddenly she crashed into his chest. 

She hugged him so tightly that he lost him balance and moved few steps backwards.

He too reciprocated the hug.

He caressed her bare back while she clinged onto him like her life is dependent on him.

She didn't know why that being in his arms made her feel safe.

He lifted her chin up only to see her crying.

"Roshni tum ro kyun rahi ho" he said while cupping her face, "aoi beto" he said making her sit in the couch.

He filled a glass of cold water and gave her.

"I don't want" she said while wiping her tears.

"tum aur tumari zid, when ever you are broken a glass of cold water will chill you down, ye lo drink this".

She drank the water and he was right.

"kya hua, what happen...I know you'll tell that..kuch nahi hua mein bilkul teek hun" he mimicked her voice making them laugh.

"mujhe aur mimicry nahi aati ab batoa kya hua... i know when you are standing near windows one you'll be very happy or heart broken...kya hua?"

"woh Siddharth...mujhe mom ke past ke baare mein"

"mom ke past? matlab DD aunty sorry sasumom ke past?"

"haan" she then narrated everything what Nani told her.

"toh isiliye I was thinking that mom ne kitna kuch apni zindagi mein dekha hai, aur me...me hamesha unke baara me....i'm the worst daughter, apni mom ki dard unke pyaar ko me kabhi nahi samaj payi...".

He side hugged her.

For a few moments they forgot the world.

Both were silent enjoying the peace they get from being in each other's arms.

Roshni then slowly backed off making Siddharth also realise the position they were in.

"sorry" both said at the same time.

Both then sat away from each other.

There was this very awkward silence between the two.

Then Siddharth decided to break it.

"um...tumara NGO yehaan se dur hai kya"

"meri NGO haan, its far but not that much, kyun?"

"nahi simply soch rahi thi tum kaise joigi"

"haan even i didn't think about that"

"i can drop you"

"you"

"yeah me...I go to office na so..." he said shrugging his shoulders.

"you know you are worst in small talks" she said making the both laugh.

"true that".

There was the awkward silence again.

"ha...ha...haha" SidNi heard some noise from outside,

"shh" Siddharth signaled Roshni who was going to speak.

He slowly got up and opened the door only to find Kritika and Yash. 

As Siddharth opened the door they fell inside slightly.

SidNi laughed.

"tum dono yehaan kya karre ho?" Siddharth asks.

"uh...uh...kuch nahi...waise bai tum ne cheating ki" Kritika said.

"maine cheating" his eyebrows furrow together.

"haan, tum bina paise diya tum andhar aagayi toh" Yash dragged Siddharth out of the room with the help of Kritika.

"guys kya karre ho tum dono" 

"pehle paise do phir andhar jao...don't be kanjus yaar"

"yeh kya hai yaar, this is my room i've been living here for years, par paise nahi diye"

"haan this is your room, par aaj aapki suhagraat hai, only when we get the money you can go to your pyaari se wife"

Then the trio got into cute arguments.

"fine yeh lo tumari paise" Siddharth said giving the money from his wallet, "ab mein jaa saktouin?"

"haan haan jao jao, bye" Yash and Kritika left counting the money.

"yeh dono bi na" Siddharth said while locking the door.

He then turned but Roshni was not there.

"Roshni" he called out.

"Roshni" he searched for her.

"Siddharth" she said.

He turned around only to be mesmerized. Roshni had changed into a black lace sleeveless night gown.

She was looking smoking hot and very much irresistible.

He was drooling over her with his mouth open.

"tum tumara muh band ke bhi mujhe dekh sakti ho" she chuckled.

"uh...main tume nahi dekratha"

"oh really", she said making both laugh.

Then Siddharth changed into his night wear while Roshni was scrolling down the pictures taken that day.

"how are we gonna sleep?" she asked.

"sleep matlab"

"where are we gonna sleep"

"on the bed where else" he shrugged thinking on why is she asking like that.

"no..."

"kya hua"

"mein tumara saath bed pe nahi so sakti, I won't sleep with you"

"maine kahaan kaha hai ki hum saath soyenga, you can sleep on the right I'll sleep on the left"

"no...main yehaan couch pe sothaoin"

"why are you being so awkward with me? its not like that we have not shared a room before"

"tab ki baat alag thi, pata nahin ab if is sleep here tum kya ilzam meri sar me daloge" she muttered.

Both stared at each other bringing all the memories again.

"tum bed pe so jao main couch pe"

"no you sleep in the bed I'll sleep in the couch"

"no Roshni, you never felt comfortable to sleep in the couch, toh you sleep in the bed mein couch pe"

"fine"

Then Roshni went to the bed and gave Siddharth his pillow.

Sleep was nowhere to be found in both the pairs of eyes.

Then slowly Roshni slept.

Siddharth got up and went near her.

He kneeled down, "tum kitni khubsurat lagrahi ho Roshni, i'm so lucky that I married to the most beautiful girl in this world.....

I should be happy na that I married you cuz....but I can't, samjho Roshni...

I know you were hurt by me baby...but even I got hurt by you...yes i'm still hurt and i'm definitely angry with you but the reasons are different now...i'm sorry my love" he said while kissing her forehead.

At that moment Roshni opened her eyes.

"aahhh" she screamed seeing him so close to her.

"shh, main hun" he closed her mouth.

"tum yehaan pe kya karre ho" she pulled the sheets closer to her.

"mein...uh...kuch nahi"

"go sleep in the couch na...besharam....badtameez...ullu" 

"okay going cool down" he said while going to his couch.

Roshni slept again.

"oh god, what a close encounter, kaash she didn't hear anything which I said...god...kitne aur imtehaan tum loge... how can she manage to be this hot yaar, agar yeh aise hai toh main kaise control karoon apna aapko....

I know you married me for your family's sake even I did decide for the same but now the reason is different...I'll always protect you...I'll be your shield...

yes Roshni i'm still angry with you...but you are more important to me than my anger...

I hate you but...I still love you meri paagal dost urf meri biwi....meri biwi" he smiled saying 'meri biwi'

BEEP...BEEP...

He had a look at his phone and the cute smile he had in his face vanished...
