In the Tudors, it was said the king married his brother's wife. His brother passed and he married his wife and ended up having a daughter with her. In the film, ScarJo was brought in to marry him and produce an heir, and Anne was her rebellious sis who ran away and married her lover at that time. She even had a kid with him then came back to pretend she was a virgin and all that just to get to be with him.

Yup, and that divorce to marry Anne was what led to separation from Rome, which was a kind of big deal leaving a lot of conservative folks salty, till date. 😆

And that's why I remember her as the second wife.

X rated! My sister was a huge fan! I’m a history buff ! But sorry it didn’t pay much attention to history. It was more about chemistry. I guess shows need to attract audiences that aren’t history buffs too.

Beg to differ a little - IMO they did show quite a bit of history inspite of some fictional liberties taken here and there, which is probably unavoidable. A significant part of Catherine/Mary/Spanish-Rome connection, the English court as a whole in parallel to Henry-Anne story along with the chapters with Wolsey, Sir Thomas More, Cromwell, reformation etc. have been covered quite in detail. That is why it took 4 seasons where S3 and 4 focused on post Anne part of Henry's life.

Don't know about others but when it comes to Henry - Anne, chemistry (in case we are talking romance here) is the last thing I can think of no matter who play it - no doubt JRM, ND both did a great job but theirs was hardly a love story 😆

I really wanted to see the post Henry period though. At least until Elizabeth became queen which was approx 10-12 years - that part of the Tudors never got as much attention even though it was pretty well documented.
