What is a "vamp" exactly?

Is she a femme fatale siren-like temptress who lures men to their doom? Or is she a scheming crooked witch who is an utter loser? Or is it just any female villain in general? I'm very interested to know the exact definition of the term.

Exact meaning, women who uses sexual attraction to make men do what they want men to do, but what they want them to do should be evil. For example Twinkle Khanna in Mela can't be called vamp even though she uses her sexual attraction to manipulate Aamir.

But just like every word in the word, vamp has its original meaning, and it is being used for almost all female villains, any type.
