I dont understand this culture of having others do your work for you. Its your house, your bed, your kitchen, your toilet but you want others to clean it when you have hours days and weeks now to do housekeeping.

it's too easy to say everyone has there own issues stop judging. Not everyone is blessed to do work as you.

On subject of servants...I think it really depends more on how many poor there are and how little the poor have than anything else. In places where there are large numbers of poor people willing to take pretty much any work, you will find maids sleeping on kitchen floors and being glad to have the place. In areas where there are fewer poor or the poor just have better options that wouldn’t happen. Several Indian relations who have come to the US were shocked to find they can’t pay (or treat) servants the same way here. My mother in law thinks my cleaning lady is the laziest woman on the planet but really she’s just a well liked busy (lots of houses) cleaning woman doing only what she’s willing to do for the money I am willing to pay her. If I ask too much or pay too little, she can just get a new job.

Completely agree wrt house-helps in US.

My 3 cousins who live in US get their house cleaned once in two weeks or once in a month.. by hiring help for 2 hrs.. that too for specific cleaning only.

Rest of household chores and cleaning, they do it themselves.
