What if I try to open another thread “Cultural imperialism of Urdu in Bollywood” and open it exclusively for “Non Urdu speaking community”?

I want to know, who set the rules; Dia-Titly was less poetic than Shama-Parwana. Pyar/Preet was less poetic than Mohabbat/Ishq. Bhakti is less poetic than Bandagi.

Why Avida had to be used for judai or Khuda Hafiz for Phir Milenge even when the characters were Hindu (and later comment on whether the singers pronounced Khuda Hafiz properly).

Why a minority imposed their choice on majority of population?

But then such a thread will be considered communal and closed in no time. Aap Kaheh to art. Hum kahei toh communal.

You can open a thread saying "Thoughts of Tamil speakers on Tamil pronunciation in Tamil songs". What is wrong with that?

I'm not going to say you're creating an exclusive club. But yes, I don't know Tamil so I might choose to ignore it or read out of curiosity. You or anyone else is free to comment on this topic. But in my opinion an Urdu speaker's thoughts would add greater value to the discussion.

You were not discussing Urdu words in Urdu film industry. (If so, even I would not have peeped in). Bollywood is mainly Hindi film industry.

Your concern was not on those words which were common in Hindi/Urdu both. Your concern was about those Urdu words derived from Persia.
So basically usage of Persian words in Hindi movie industry. I said, how does it matter? After all, it is a foreign word.

I did not bring religion. The Urdu words used in songs do that. (One of the song you posted in the first page had “Khuda Hafiz” , while you were commenting on the diction of that word).

Because the TM wants to discuss it, it is very relevant to BW....and its not a big deal....this is a forum....people discuss a lot of stinking/stupid stuff over here.....I ignore the stuff I don't like....or if its too obnoxious I just report to the Mods.....why fret over someone who wants to discuss Urdu words and how they are pronounced.....If you open one about Tamil words....I probably won't even open the thread because I don't know Tamil.

This thread was a much saner thread worth a discussion but as always got misinterpreted ,,,about people trying to put others down when there was no intention anywhere......its just about pronouncing the word wrong and that also by BW people...not even people in general...lol..

I was discussing Khuda Hafiz pronunciation in the Bollywood song. You started discussing the religion of the characters. And socio politics, while throwing in communism into the mix for good measure.

Since you brought up minority vs majority, consider the example of Dravidian movement:

India level:

Minority: Dravidian speakers

Majority: Hindi speakers

Should Hindi be accepted as national language?

-OR-

Tamil Nadu level:

Minority: Hindi/Sanskrit speaking elite

Majority: Tamil speakers

Should Hindi not be accepted as national language?

Does it even make sense to discuss it since it all happened decades back?

I broke my head trying to figure out where this hierarchy thing cam from..🤔So if I go to Tamil Nadu with practically zero Tamil speaking skills and probably butchering the language if I tried to speak a few words somehow.....I am lower in hierarchy over there or I will be looked down upon??....I don't think it happens like that anywhere. People are much more saner than that.

Wow the snowflakes in this thread. Why do they feel so threatened by anything non-Hindi? Relax. It's just a language. And Urdu is as much an Indian language as is Hindi or Sanskrit or Tamizh. Take your xenophobia elsewhere.
