I LOVE Tiktok. That's our only access to see what real India is. The enjoyment and excitement that you see in the eyes of the actual aam aadmi who probably slog every single day of their life and the app is their only outlet of pent up frustration in the most craziest and creative ways. And there are some amazing talent out there in rural India and tier 2/,3 cities and towns that are stereotyped as being from 'chota shahar' and 'anpad gawaar'. I've seen aged women, housewives dancing their heart out while doing their day to day activities, men and women coming from rural areas lipsync amazingly to English songs and dialogues. Also thee are hundreds of videos celebrating the girl child. So many videos of dads and moms celebrating their daughters,
so many of them spreading awareness about mental health and societal pressure in the language that the MASSES understand. People of different shapes and sizes absolutely not giving a fk to the trolls and dancing their heart out and the most special of all- differently abled people, acid attack survivors, people with autism, etc absolutely hitting out of the park with their videos on the app and all of these channels having so many subscribers only and only spreading positive vibes and comments.
There are horrible people everywhere in each app but tiktok has given the masses what the elites have denied them for a long long time- access to internet, a platform and entertainment. And we should stop snatching that too from them! Let people live the way they want to and whatever the hell makes them happy especially during such a time. They don't need us. We are not their audience. Their audience is the real small town India which makes up the majority of this country.
And about all the cringey things all these teenagers do in the app- Lets pls go back in time and see how cringey we all were at the same age.
