Honestly, they don't deserve to explain their 'reasoning'. They are too chicken to anyway.

The only people I can understand being homophobic are people who have no reach to awareness campaigns and are bound by social conditioning, religious diktats that have found no way to reverse itself. Esp grandparents ka gen. Cause that ship has sailed. Even really older parents. Social conditioning at that age is hard to reverse ( but awareness can change even that gen) Literally anyone who doesn't have resources to think otherwise most likely would be homophobic/transphobic. And that's understandable because that mindset has a chance of changing.

But I don't think anyone here belongs to that demographic lol so whoever here thinks like that in today's day and age even after all the awareness campaigns and the likes... And particularly knowing what homophobia and transphobia can do to the physical well-being and mental health of the community, is one shit excuse of a human being. To think less of a person because of their sexuality is one of the lowest of lows.

well to be honest i have noticed that when there is a topic like this, posters here are against transphobia or racism or whatever issue is being discussed about..

but the same people may also many times post problematic comments related to the same issues, specially when posting against their hated celebrities..

like now if someone does a topic asking about sl*t shaming and people unanimously would be against it..and the same people would comment on another thread about their hated celebrities' number of ex boyfriends...

See for me it doesn't matter which gender you are, what your sexual orientation is. If you are an asshole, you are asshole even if you are the straightest basket in the world, and if you are a good human, you are a good human even if you get hard on whenever you see bike silencer. The only one category I hate is pedophiles, sorry these monsters don't deserve to live, period.

And as for is transphobia and homophobia in Bollywood, see the content is nowadays getting mellow compared to earlier times. But Bollywood has stereotyped homosexuals as horny men who just want sex to such an extent that it will take much more than a lame Subh Mangal Ziyada Savdhan to change it.

As a child I used to be scared of transgender people. That is what society fed in all of us since childhood. But later due to internet and YouTube I got hold on my thoughts and saw some great people. I realized it's us *who think we are normal and qualified* who oust them when they were still not sure who they are and needed their family most. We shedded off our responsibilities.

Homosexuals were still fine since they looked like all of us. How convenient of us

So to the poll question.. do you think being trans/homo is being a lesser person.

No. We are all alike. People who lacks morals, who gets pleasure in torturing other human beings are the one less human.

There are so many crude homophobic, transphobic scenes in Bollywood movies. I want to know whether there is still an audience to such regressive cinema.

I enjoy such cinema. Does that mean I’m against the people ?

You are. This is not a joke.

By enjoying such cinema, you are helping further strengthen the stereotypes that people have about the community. Such cinema also normalizes usage of slurs, abuse and oppression of the community. This enables bullies because it makes homophobic/transphobic bullying acceptable, and it makes the lives of the community miserable (the community is already stigmatized, and instead of helping them stand on their feet and give them due respect, you are further kicking them when they are already down).

It has real consequences for people who are at the receiving end of the bullying and abuse. It affects their mental health and traumatizes them for life.

So Kanta Ben stuff would be off limits ? That’s the type of humor your talking about ?

If you had to pick just one Bollywood movie as your all-time favorite, which one would it be? And what makes it so special for you?
