I have read that Draupadi in her previous life was married to a Rishi who had leprosy but she was devoted to him. Pleased, he asks her for a boon, she asks him to make love to her in different forms.. he does but she keeps asking for it.
He decides to renounce but she is still isn’t satisfied and he curses her.
She thus prays to Lord Shiva for a husband.
Ved Vyas tells Drupad about this so it’s taken as destiny, and sometimes you don’t choose destiny.
I don’t think there is anything specific in the epic whether she was happy or not with the arrangement.
Are men unhappy when they had multiple wives?
Men aren't, but they do it voluntarily and also they marry princesses of different kingdoms generally hence it's a political alliance in most cases. (Eg: Arjun and his wives)
In this case, all the Princes are from the same dynasty/kingdom. Draupadi was not aware that this was going to happen, and I don't buy this Lord Shiva boon theory because IMO it's possible to see the text from a non divine historical perspective and give it the chance that some of these incidents actually took place. It's hard to accept realistically that she was being given her boon from last birth.
There's no reason to think she was happy with five brothers. It served no purposes except lust or sexual satisfaction. Only her marriage to Yudhi made her the empress. Also in most cases, men choose their wives or the princesses (again based on politics) . The same isn't applicable here.
Also, nothing about feelings is explicitly stated in the epic. That does not mean we cannot interpret or discuss what characters were feeling.
For all you know, this Vyasa coming and dictating and this past life story can very much be a calculated patriarchal addition of interpolation to justify this nonsense by Yudhi Kunti etc.
Alot of these strange divine justifications are interpolations IMO.
