If you want to bid a proper farewell to your loved ones, dress accordingly otherwise it would seem that you're trying to get rid of their body in hurry or don't care about rituals being properly followed. And who says you can't change clothes when you're greiving? You don't become handycapped that you can't do such simple thing as changing clothes...and for the last time, people can say what they feel in a free country ..celebs are public property. And everyone has right to pass judgements on them good or bad. People made them and people have every right to speak on their behaviour. Every time a celebrity passes.....you can see these vultures come out attacking people...totally disregarding the grief that the family might be going through...spreading rumors and what not....every religion has these venomous snakes 🤢

No it's not necessary to wear white, not even for widows ( Hindu Sanatan Dharm). That's only BW. Less vibrant, dull colors are acceptable because the event is mourning. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green are vibrant and joyous colours hence not apt for mourning.

Guess to set out social decorum, this is done.
