Meera, I think if we get a jealousy track, we would get to see the possessive & protective side of him for Kuhu, infact for the same reasons I really want a jealousy track. Not just to us the kuku fandom, his love would become more apparent & visible for Kuhu & others also😉

but then it puts them in danger zone as direct target for meenu also

and besides the current plot requires Kuhu to be insecure & have doubts about Kunal's priorities, so I have no hopes of getting the jealousy track since it would work in contrast from the plot🤢

so for now we will keep getting same old type of scenes like kunal leaving kuhu right after humma humma when he gets his mom's call, him ready to leave the resort (even without kuhu), to go & sign the papers that meenu wanted😡

By conservative, I didn't mean that he was being sexist or mysogynistic. What bothered me most was how he always thought of job as something that was just a tool to provide for the family, rather than realising that it was something that was maybe a tool to feel empowered or feel independent or even feel good about oneself. When he told Ketu that she didn't need to work because she had 2 bade bhai, and waise, she also didn't handle it well. She said that "maine socha mann laga rahega" and he said for that, you can join a hobby class rather than a job. But in all this, what bugged me the most was how she was already expecting the answer to be a "No". She was prepared for it and just shooting her shot.

Re-watching that scene really made me want to see Kuhu and Ketu handling the event business and everyone being super proud of the things they achieve.

@bold: I totally agree with you, but I liked that element as something the character had to learn over time. He grew up watching Meenu not have a choice whether to work or not, and then because Abir chose not to help her, he took up that mantle as her successor and the financial pillar of the family. From his vantage point, a woman in his family working was a direct comment on his ability to provide for them. I think in a convoluted way, he wanted to convince Ketu that she wasn't on her own just because her marriage fell through; he would always be there to support her.

The beautiful irony of their story was that by marrying Kuhu under the circumstances he did, he made it totally valid for her to want to support herself but the way she approached her work taught him something new about how one could think about it. I think because of Abir's example, he saw separate work as separation from the family unit; Kuhu showed him that work could actually be used to bring the family closer together, and that went a long way in easing both his and Meenu's issues around this sensitive subject. There was a growth arc there that was very satisfying to watch unfold.

@bold 2: This has already happened in Sam's HC land. 😃 What's more, Ketu takes care of the local events while Kuhu is abroad for her studies. I like to think Ketu handles the numbers side of the business while Kuhu handles the creative side.

Totally with your thoughts on validation! Also, I love the idea of turning this group into a more broad discussion of other books and shows -- we all happen to share so many common references!
