That is all that mattered to him. He was spiritually on a much much higher plane to even bother about media nonsense. Interview after interview over the years showed how detached a person he was from materialistic benchmarks. He knew he was loved. That’s all I said. Who cares about media? He surely didn’t care for it beyond promotions when alive and surely doesn’t now. Heh.

Errr u r talking about irfan and his pov ..i m talking about how the general public perceives things when someone uses tags like star , actor , underrated , overrated etc ..

If people say he was not enough appreciated or he was underrated ,its bec how the media makes it look like ..based on that people react..

Akshay ho ya salman , they r hypocrats in my pov ..they all r stardom obsessed ..but haan mahaan banne ke liye dialogue maar dete hai ki wish i was good actor ..i m myself a fan of aamir but i know he is hypocrat too in such matters ..they all thrive fr 100 200 300 crores ..But again who r we to judge ..

How many Indian actors have this honour in Hollywood..No one comes to my mind ..

He was also doing good films in Bollywood.. but I Guess he went the Sanjeev Kumar way .. gone in peak of his career

His cinema was well received and that too was the man off the streets showing him love. When he came down with cancer, the messages he received from fans and ordinary human beings overwhelmed him. There were many who wrote to him regularly. India loved and still loves him to bits and very few actors in the spectrum of art house cinema usually receive such love and that’s because he turned art cinema commercial too and managed to reach out. Most of all he was a true human being- a man with his heart in the right place.

u dint get me Uma. Ofcourse India loved him and will keep admiring him. I myself comes from that India. But I was just talking about getting that fame as Salman or likes of him received but not Irrfan or Manoj Bajpayee.

I cudnt sleep the night i got the news of him having cancer. Yeah!! That impact I had. And today, again, mt eyes are getting moist.

I agree and that was the reason Akshay didn’t accept the popular award category as he wasn’t recognised as an actor

Irfan was praised by all co-stars and industry for his talent! He was extremely talented and yes I loved him in Banegi Apni baat as well! Brilliant actor and he did get awards which he deserved so that way I feel, he wasn’t an underrated actor!

Jyo, my first response had been to Catcher who wrote:

“He was alive, cudnt receive that love and appreciation for his work which he very well deserved... “

And I replied to Catcher that that is a false impression and that Irrfan did receive much love and appreciation, an immense lot and he was aware of it 🤷‍♀️

Theres no doubt he was loved by cinema lovers in real world but i was just watching news channels who were repeatedly saying he may not b a star but was actor par excellence ..u see the sentence "he may not b a star" says it all ..

When Sridevi's news came , the headline was A star is gone today ..

Its the media unfortunately who differentiates based on various parameters and thats how the things r taken by the general public ..

When a talented person is gone from this world ,one should avoid using tags but thats not how the universe works unfortunately..its same in hollywood too .

totally agree jyoti ji

That is what i meant.

Akahay is another dramebaaz..he will refuse filmfare to show mahanta but happily accept national award fr rustom the same year when manoj bajpayee was robbed of his award fr aligarh in same ceremony ..

If u really stand by your words then hv the courage to refuse the national award as well when entire nation knew priyadarshan just gifted him that award ..

Completely agree. Irrfan was never ever underrated as an actor! Irrfan in Banegi Apni Baat- don’t make me cry girl. That’s where my fan love story with him began. It won’t end here either- his work will stand the test of time. And then, everybody has to perish, eh? Sigh.

Even though we all knew he was battling cancer no one expected it that he will succumb to it so soon:(

I loved all his movies and I watched Angrezi Medium just last week! It’s very hard to accept that he is no more and his mom passed away just few days back! Very unfortunate

2020 is really needs to end soon
