Reliance head denied this rumour already.
Good if it's not true since like everyone said this is for the big screen but can't take rumour denial at face value coz no producer would make an official comment as it will hamper their negotiation.

Ok watched the video...
Who is the top producer whose last film was a flop and was trying to sell two of his films to the Netflix? Karan Johar?
Dinesh Vijan. Both Love Aaj Kal and Angrezi Medium were flops.

Komal has mentioned a Rangeen film which is Laxxmi Bomb. So the other hint is not about Laxxmi.
But the video said the producer has had a lot of hits over the years and that only his last film was a flop?

Yeah- Hindi Medium, Stree, Bala, Lukka Chupi were all hits. I guess the flop he was mentioning is Love Aaj Kal coz Angrezi Medium had an abrupt end in theatres.

True, but they are first to clarify also...Both Shibasish and Kabir have been very adamant since they announced the postponement that 83 will release on the big screens only will wait till all the key markets opens theatres. They both have gone on record several times over the past few days.
The only way they will go for an OTT release is if they get a 200 cr+ deal, I feel. The makers have always been highly confident that the film will be a big money spinner. 134 cr is too less for a film that makers always had high hopes.
On a completely different note, how are these platforms planning to recover such high investments? By making them payperview?

Don't think it will be pay per view since Netflix anyways charges a bomb. They'll recover from more subscriptions if they get such huge films on board. Hotstar released Angrezi Medium within weeks but it was not pay per view. Though I wonder why Netflix is always their first preference. Isn't that the least watched OTT among all major players in India?
I know it sounds like first world problem...but I miss watching the movies in the theaters....ðŸ˜
By now I would’ve watched 83 at least a couple of times but for this damned virus! 😡
