I have read some, not sure if you'd like them or not but I am putting a list here: (warning you, the description might get long, I babble a lot when it comes to Sci-fis🤣)
1. The immortal life of Henrietta Lacks, Rebecca Skloot (this is not a sci fi but since you are doing medicals, I thought this is a must for you. Its about the whole story of how HeLa cell line was developed and who was its donor, ethics and stuff like that but it has a personal life description of Henrietta Lacks. I am sure you will like this. It's not textbook stuff 😆)
Thanks for the assurance🤣 Would love to read this.
2. The Divergent Trilogy, Veronica Roth
This has to be the first sci fi I ever read cause this one introduced me to sci world. It's got a kickass female protagonist and an equally attractive male protagonist. Theme is mostly about genetic experiments and advance biotechnology.
3. Poison study series, Maria V Snyder (some six books in the series)
This typically ain't a modern sci-fi but it's good one. You will find ancient stuff, new world building, lot of politics, magic and assassins. You can say its kinda of a fantasy sci fi. Another story backed by a strong female protagonist, who has magical abilities and to partner her with there this cold blooded assassin who is a chief security officer of that country. You will love the slow brewing love between the protagonists.
This sounds most intriguing. I'm in for it in second.
4. Delirium, Lauren Oliver (three books in the series)
This another trilogy with urban background.
High points are, different world building, strict government, resistance group and single rule, America is free or Deliria.
5. Brave New World, Aldous Huxley
It was written long back that I dont remember when 🤣. High points are, you will find babies in artificial embryo chambers. Just like today's world, there's this class difference too. You can totally skip it if you cant get through the first 10 pages cause it's boring 😵🤓
6. Time travellers wife
This is a beautiful story of love, longing, separation and of course the science of time travelling.
Time travel concept always fascinates me, I think I'm going to read this one first in quarantine😊
7. Frankenstein, Mary Shelly.
They say if you haven't read Frankenstein you haven't read biotechnology 🤣.
Thanks Allah! You had read it else your degree would've been questioned🤣
8. Digital Fortress, Dan Brown
The writer has other notable works you can check like Angels and Demons, Da Vinci Code. This one is a techno thriller.
That's all as of now. I will send you more if I'll remember more😉
Anytime!🤗
