Doordarshan channel is cutting/Skipping important scenes of Ramayan and as I'm a first time viewer it get difficult to comprehend which scene or dialogue got skipped.

Many episodes have been edited and re-assembled for the DVD version from Sagar studios. They cut huge portions to fit their per-DVD-size. I guess what they're airing now is that DVD version.

The full uncut version is available only with DD National, and as Surabhi mentioned, lets see if they can keep it up or we need to complain more. 😆

Right now, the only solution is, you look for deleted/extended scenes on YT after watching the epis. It's irritating yes, but currently the best solution.

Are there blu-ray discs w/ the series? If there were, I think there would be less reason to cut anything. As it is today, w/ cloud storage, there's no reason for anything to be cut: just upload the entire originals up, and let people download it as needed

We long-timers have been lamenting, since the DVDs came out, that there are like 6 different sets that you can buy and no single one of them has all the scenes that were in the original run and the VHS sets. The closest you can get is this one in which the subtitles are permanently burned on, but the quality sucks:

For the Lav Kush Uttarkand, years ago, there was a YouTube poster named SandeepShrback who originally posted the entire original Uttarkand - Sita's long lecture to Rama in which she persuades him to exile her, Lakshman exploding at Rama after he gets the order, Bharat protesting when Rama suggests doing a Rajasuya yagna before Lakshman suggests an Ashwamedha one and so on. At the time, YouTube was pretty aggressive about deleting Sagar uploads online.

At this point, though, I'd think that they'd have maxed out on sales: everyone who'd have been interested in buying their DVDs/VCDs would have gotten them, and others are simply not interested. So it would make more sense for the Sagars to have their own YouTube channel, and upload the complete originals there

Can we use this thread to formulate a plan for how to make this happen? Putting alllll unedited footage up on the cloud seems like the ideal solution, they can still make each download paid and monetize it while not running into any storage issues and facing the hassle of creating physical inventory. It's a win-win for them and the viewers. The TRPs the show is getting even now when there are hundreds of channels and streaming services are proof that the demand is there; we just need to take to twitter (maybe #RamayanRestored ?) or an email campaign or something and get it in their heads. It would be a dream come true for me.
