PS : I honestly can't tell who was better since I haven't watched many of their movies. Was just curious about the general opinion.

It is the popular opinion. Sridevi was the true allrounder. Faaaar superior than Madhuri in acting and looks, and an equal in dance.

Sridevi was a superstar, no doubt about that.......but Madhuri had her own craze, popularity and her own place in bollywood unparalleled to any other actress........ Kangoli also must've not seen her movies otherwise, she wouldnt have commented about her range of acting be it subtle, drama, comedy or erotic..........

Ranaut sisters are Sridevi fans. If I am not wrong, i remember kangana falling sick on the sets of manikarnika after srideviji's demise.

Toh unka madhuri ko non actor bolna lazmi hain kyun she won a poll against srideviji.

Maybe she is a Sridevi fan like I am Madhuri fan.

For me its Sridevi over Madhuri any day. Madhuri Dixit had a different craze in her prime but from an audience pov the craft that Sridevi brought on the table was of a different league all together. I wonder how many can actually make a conversation with a puppy that real and adorable other than Sriji.

She also dragged in Dilip K, Rajesh K and SRK while she is at it....

But why did she have to jump into everything? Why did she think her opinion was needed? Kuch zyada hi apne aap ko importance deti hai ye....

I think the true test is when you’re past yourr prime. Anyone can get excited over Madhuri’s chest jumping dancing moves

But when they both aged, Sridevi still found success in English Vinglish and Mom.

All of Madhuri’s comeback films were huge flops

I feel they had their own craze. Both were immensely talented.

The thing about the 80s-90s was that every actor had their own USP, so their strengths were completely different. They can't be compared.

For me, I preferred Madhuri in Dhak Dhak over Sridevi in Abbanee Tiyyani. Whereas I preferred Shashi over Bahaar Begum (but Madhuri was great in Dedh Ishqiya). Performances were Sri's forte and dance was Madhuri's. But they were both great.
