I watch the flying lanterns every year on Diwali.

And for the past two years, I have always been remembering Nazar while watching them...

I so wish to do it once myself too... But aaj tak chance nahi mila... 🤔

This was the second time actually.

First time was when I bought some green bangles because I don't were bangles, at all. It itches. 😆

Have fascination regarding blue saree because of a poem I had read during 11-12th standard. 😳

Damn! But mothers always do. Hi5.

For the first time I was seeing an insta live and my mom also asked, imagine. 🤣So I had to just say like some video.

Oh oh. Wow, really a connection.

As I say, sometimes you connect to characters, actors, shows, when there's some similarity, difference or an inspiration.

Yes, even I do want to for an experience. I have seen it when it happens, cos we can actually see sky lighted and all.

I am really glad for auntie. 😊

Well, lantern I first watched in TVD and more than the sequence what struck me was Damon alone, talking to Alarick's grave, pouring his heart out. So I wasn't into lantern much.

Then again for a brief period of time, I watched a couple of Thai movies and shows. They actually have festivals regarding it. So even then I was untouched.

But it was the KD sequence that got me hooked. Then again green bangles - it was KD written all over it.

I do love to get drenched in rain and the poem I was talking about it had references from Radha-Krishna and Meghdootam. So I made up my mind that once in my lifetime, I would get drenched while wearing a blue saree. My bestie used to laugh at me and poke me saying who is my Krishna? 😆

Actually, lantern got me hooked while I was watching KD.

But when I started my honors, it became trendy that people would fly lanterns on different functions and there were some accidents. Because you know, ultimately lanterns get down and in some places it struck electric line. So now it's banned in our country that we can't light lanterns on specific occasions to avoid accident.

But yes, someday, I want to.

Well, I have always been fascinated by the lanterns since childhood... And then, I saw a video of the lantern festival celebrated in China on Nat Geo... And it was just lovely...

So, I have always wanted to fly lanterns on Diwali...

Thankfully, it is not banned here... And people mostly fly lanterns mainly on Diwali...

Yeah! I saw in Thai and Korean movies - the festivals!!! It's awesome.

Glad that it's not banned in India! You could definitely go for it when you want! 😃

😃

Interesting.

I do find lanterns risky, also about being hooked I didn't. I was more like I used to see around Diwali and sky looked pretty. But other than that, I was like cinematography and photography of anything looks great if done well.

Also KD looked real, Nazar was larger than life...too expensive type set created and Tangled will be my fav for the graphics cos it was above water and I have some connection with water.

That's great. So you want a particular costume to get drenched? Wow. Getting drenched in rain is always awesome! Lol, ofc..

True!

Nazar actually reminded me off Tangled. Specially when Ansh's and Piya's lanterns touched together. It was larger than life.

Personally I like simple scenes or simple gestures.

Yes, grand gesture has its spark but simplicity makes me go awwwwww!!!

About getting drenched, I think I got it from my mother. We both are very much fascinated about rain and I used to get drenched often when I was a kid. But rain is often connected with romance in literature and movies.

Once I was reading this novel where the protagonist was drinking coffee and got drenched. So I tried that also.

Saree - it's the traditional outfit of Bengalis and even though I don't wear it, I love it. I think so far I have worn saree 3 or 4 times max.

But the poem I was talking about, it was about how restless the poet was to come to his motherland and he compared the restlessness and peace upon reaching home to several elements and figures like Radha-Krishna, Jakkha and Jakkhapriya and coincidentally it was taught to us during the rainy season. So someone who had always been fascinated about rain, if she gets to learn such an amazing poem that too by a wonderful professor, you get how that can affect you! 😊

I did fulfill some of my wishes regarding rain but the blue saree thing - I haven't done yet. Let's see if I can ever do that or not. 😊

Indeed, yes! Nazar had very few simple scenes, which were beautiful.

Great to know. Well, yes it's there in everything and though people appreciate these, but when actual rains come, very few love the season.

Great but you should have done reverse, get wet and have coffee. I have done the signature thing.. having bhajiya and vada pav in rain.

Great to know. For us too, it's our main costume but I don't have any specifications for getting wet, it's more like I don't like much girlish things, sounds weird.

Definitely it can!

Great.

I hope you do.
