To be fair New York also has lot more stuff to maintain so it makes sense the taxes would be high. The mayor of NYC is more at fault for the virus spreading than him( the mayor encouraged people to go out when this pandemic started 😒).

Washington state managed Corona better than a lot of other states despite outbreak starting there but Inslee never got even half of the attention Cuomo is getting 😆 .
