Frightening reports are coming in of mass hunger among the homeless & single migrants in the city. Work & religious food charities have collapsed. If NGOs are supplying food in some shelters, 1000s are gathering in desperation, risking mass infection.

You need to be very careful in this matter - watch a video from Bergamo and you will understand how terrible this is.

Well let's not spread unsubstantiated information as I have not seen a single report on this. And we should not spread panic.

Yes these are difficult times for everyone and especially the poor and homeless and I trust the government is doing its bit to ease their situation.

Harsh Mander is a very well respected, fearless ex IAS officer who works with the homeless and street children so he has a lot of credibility.

Saying that coronavirus is causing a lot of misery in India and the world is not spreading panic.

With a lot of daily wagers losing their jobs and unable to earn money- my mother was telling me about the tik-tok and rickshaw drivers who hardly have any passengers, it is not out of the realm of possibility that a lot of people would be gathering in large numbers for food and thus increasing their risk of infection

This topic is not about Harsh Mander so would not like to discuss him here. We will create another topic later (once the crisis is over) to discuss how he does not believe in Supreme Court of India and the Parliament.

If there is any media report (with proof) that you would like to share to back his claim will be appreciated.

I am certain that the Central and State Governments along with members from the civil society are taking steps to help the poor and needy during this crisis situation.

The time is not to be pessimistic, rather of hope, patience and restraint from going out unless required.
