I am also really surprised by the way they both effortlessly pulled off the sequence since I neither have done these kinds of scenes before. ( Or maybe Ritvik has ? I have not seen his first show)
Nikki đ¤ I missed you đ
Both did great! Putting aside all our complaints on their story we can watch this dance sequence shamelessly âşď¸

Also mate, isn't this like a great opportunity for the writers to think through and come up with some great ideas for the storyline without having to worry about the time constraints and deadlines !!
I wish the hiatus inspires them to come up with some great stuff !! đ¤đ¤đ¤
Unfortunately, I don't think the imbalance in the writing comes from lack of care or time. Over the past year, it's become increasingly clear that they are very deliberate about how they write and what they want most obvious to the audience. If they tweaked the show and actually wrote it more the way we see it, it would be niche content, like Shaheer's previous show. The writing was unapologetically character-driven there but this show is written on two levels -- you can either follow the melodrama that hits you in the face or look more closely at the details where there is much richer story being told.
It's sort of like what Meera brought up earlier -- why do some of us see the whole story and especially Kuhu so differently? This is my best guess, based on the mechanics of the writing so far. They are never going to fully damn Kuku or fully redeem Meenu but taking them to the brink and bringing them back fuels the melodrama quotient of the show (which is what fuels TRPs, in case that wasn't clear).

I don't want to say too much about a precap because they can be misleading, but it the more this arc unfolds, the more Kuhu's fears and anger seem totally justified to me. And it's not just about Mishti, though that is a major trigger. In the precap specifically, the way Mishti tries to cut Kuhu out of the conversation, it's like she's saying, jab bade baat karte hain to bacche beech mein nahi bolte. I mean, who wouldn't get frustrated being treated like that by someone your own age?
And she has done this to Kuhu from epiosde 1 (maybe 2?) when she pulled Ketu aside to talk to her, and told Kuhu to stay out of it despite the fact that it was Kuhu who found Ketu and got her to open up about her problems. The thing is, this kind of behaviour was allowed by the bade Maheshwaris -- Mishti was always praised for going off and doing manmani and Kuhu's feelings of betrayal were always dismissed as childish -- but Mishti can't take this for granted in the RV family.
Kuhu has a voice here, one that she earned and it's not so easily ignored. In addition, despite BM's superiority complex, I find the RV household much more meritocratic -- the more work you do towards the family and the more goodwill you earn, the more you are taken seriously in the family. Yes, ultimately, it's Meenu who decides who is worthy but I find her very fair in this matter. The whole conflict between her and Abir comes from the fact that she really, really, really wants to give him this power but she wants him to earn it on her terms first. She's saying, show me that you put this family first, even above your own desires (like I did) and then I will trust you with running it. Abir is yet to inspire this confidence in her. This is precisely why Parul actually has much more of a say than Nidhi (which Jasmeet doesn't quite get because this family structure is so unfamiliar); she simply does more work.
In all this Kuhu cracked the formula to managing Meenu all on her own. Meenu's major fear is change and loss of control and when that fear is stoked she uses her hyper-perceptiveness to play with the people around her until her sense of balance is restored. Kuhu dealt with the first part by showing Meenu over time (there is no single action to demonstrate this) that she has no intention of challenging the existing structure, but rather every intention to bolster it. The perfect example is her business; she could have challenged Meenu and said, I am a woman of today, I deserve to work; you owe it to me after what you did! But instead, she made her work accessible to the whole family and made the change less scary to Meenu. She dealt with the second part by holding her cards very close to her chest. She never made herself visible to Meenu unless she was doing something with/for the family.
By staying under the radar, and blending seamlessly into the family, she made herself invisible as a pawn for Meenu's games. Meenu exploited her weakness for Kunal to stage the whole sham shaadi, and Kuhu learned from that, but when the divorce truth was revealed, it brought Kunal, Kuhu, and their weaknesses -- Kuhu's wrt to Mishti and Kunal's true feelings for Kuhu -- into the spotlight and Meenu suddenly saw another opportunity which had been carefully hidden from her all this time. I strongly believe that Kunal really gets Meenu and that is why he is so cautious about expressing his own feelings -- he knows that at best they'll be ingored and even more likely, used against him. That's why he didn't confirm that he loved Kuhu until he thought he had Meenu's approval. He didn't want to commit to a relationship he doesn't have the capacity to nibhao.
(Taking a second to LOL because this was supposed to be a quick reply đ)
Kuhu gets this on a cellular level but it also terrifies her because this remains a relationship with a huge risk factor, unless Meenu is managed well. The divorce truth getting revealed the way it did has far-reaching consequences, because the sisters' feud gave Meenu a second wind when she thought she had been conclusively defeated. Even so, what could have been Meenu's general fear of change pacified over time has now been blown up by Kunal's public acknowledgment of Parul. Now, not only does Meenu have the tools to regain control, she has added confidence that she is doing the right thing for her family. Mishti does not get any of this, like AT ALL, in fact, she has the longest, most prolific track record of pissing Meenu off and sending her carefully managed family into chaos. If I were Kuhu, I'd also want to do everything in my power to stop that inevitable repeat of history and resent my experience being dismissed.
Sam *bows* this is what makes me a fan of your analysis! From a precap you analyzed so much and each and everything makes sense! The bold part yes it does appear like that and after watching the episode tonight it did feel that way.
I agree with Kuhu cracking Meenu. She doesn't badmouth her but just states facts like Abir. It doesn't mean she doesn't respect her or something.
And with Meenu taking advantage of every single opportunity is so true! I mean she is so smart đł

I literally imagined going to the hill top and standing on the edge (that's where we all are) waiting to be pulled back. Humma humma was a slight pull back đ
Niche content stories never fetch TRPs. Web series is a better platform for those kind of shows where content is king. Here on ITV drama only fetches TRPs.
