I doubt it. Once this wanes off, people will throng theatres as usual. After all, Bollywood and movies are a big thing in India.
Remember Baaghi 3 did well despite the Corona threat and Angrezy Medium got a decent enough opening considering all theatres were closed in Delhi.
People are entertainment-crazy in India. Entertainment is like bread and butter.
Yes they may not perform upto the optimum level ..
Who in their right mind would release anything this year? Corona Virus is not going away anytime soon so releasing a film this year is not a great idea. Researchers and Doctors are predicting at least 12 to 18 months minimum if everything goes well, to come out with a viable vaccine for COVID19. The situation is progressively getting worse in Canada, the USA, Italy, UK, etc. People will not self-quarantine forever. Forget films, we are living in a serious pandemic. It feels like a horror film where I live.

Well, For now, people are in this state because Many countries are showing an exponential growth of cases. Most countries are going toward the peak of the curve, hence we are in the worst state as of now. That’s pretty much the whole reason why we are self-quarantining. To reduce the spread. I can’t predict the future and I’m not a scientist..but it is said to get better. Much like China is going through a recovery period now. So releasing a film in the second half of 2020 doesn’t seem completely off the radar
No. People will throng the threatres once the pandemic subsides.. for most people in India watching films in cinema halls is the only mode of entertainment.

people are not scared to go out in the middle of the corona crisis ...why would they be scared to go when its no longer a worry 🤔
They should consider releasing movies on Netflix or online for a fee.
Charge people the same amount of money a movie ticket would cost. I’m sure people would pay.

That’s happening here in the US. Some movies that were suppose to be in theaters are now being release on streaming platforms for $20 rental.
