@italics: Yes I am sure and I know what I am talking about.😊 This forum has a long history!I will leave it at that. I know I have crossed a line but I am not sorry about it.
Coming to the post. I don't think Anurag is an abusive boyfriend like those Gul khan heros but its fine if someone thinks he used to manhandle her everyday, was an abusive jerk etc. I may not agree with it but I respect the opinion.
But I think you(not you) are really crossing the line when you say "he forced himself on her" for something that was shown as consensual sex. The scene in no way showed force. She was as interested as he was. Her saying yeh galat hai ( itv's and 80's movies standard dialogue before pre marital sex ) was to assure the trp audience that that Prerna was still sanskaari.Everyone knows why that dialogue was given to her. Yet you pick that line to make it look like it was not consensual? The word rape was not used but what else does forcing mean? It is really not funny to throw such words casually! Consent is still a grey area even in the west. Chalo... I will even accept that even though Pre wanted to have sex she was not completely sure of it but how can one equate that to being forced? Is it always a black and white situation?
I will just quote what my friend wrote. She has put it in a better way.
Thank you Bombay girl & Doppelganger for not letting this slide.
@bold Right from the beginning the show was shown as if anupre nd their families were living in 19th century- Prerna's baggy anarkali clothes to college, anurag although returned from London dresses up in awkward looking tight shirts and pants.. Those weird ott mandal scenes, prerna shown so dumb that can't think of using online services to scale up her mom's business, anurag just a namesake London return..
It all looked like they just wanted everyone to reminisce the old kzk S1..
Prerna saying those "ye galat hai" nd anurag assuring her of marriage within a week.. this was like watching a scene from 60's..
As cringeworthy as the entire seq was, it wasn't there in first place when the jungle sequence was shot.
Much later after they started of shooting of anukom marriage, overnight they made a makeshift jhopdi just for inserting this obvious contrived scene.. It was so obvious Cvs just wanted to show anupre had sex, whether it makes sense or not it wasn't their concern.
Throwing entire blame on anurag for sex by saying he forced her, belittles prerna even more. As if she's some poor little vulnerable girl who doesn't even know what she wants & not.
