Look, with the way the story has unfolded so far - Anurag's intention of pushing Prerna off the bridge wasn't to kill her, he just wanted her off Komolika's radar so that Komolika would never be able to harm her. In his own way, he was trying to protect her. He knew what he was doing wasn't right and Prerna probably would forever hate him for that. But he was okay living with her hate, as long as she was alive and out of jail, it would be enough for him to live his life as long as she was alive, so what if they were not together.

He did have measures in place for saving her, now when he comes to know that the his divers were all bought off by Komo and Prerna would have died, if not for Bajaj, that definitely would devastate him and it would be on his soul forever that he had almost killed HIS Prerna and that is a journey that the character of Anurag Basu has to take. Forget anyone else, I think Anurag would probably never forgive himself for that. Did he make a mistake? Absolutely. Can he be redeemed? Probably not. Does that mean that he is a terrible human being and doesn't deserve at all to be with Prerna and have his chance at love? Well, that's for Prerna (and the CVs, I guess) to decide.

Calling it a mistake is seriously undermining what he did. What does Prerna do with intentions when she could’ve died of a cardiac arrest or on impact hitting the river?

Anurag shouldn’t forgive himself anyway because anything could’ve happened. It SHOULD be on his soul. Intentions hold no value when you ‘kill’ someone to this extent. Not just that, he seperated a mother from her 2-day child.

I don't claim to understand Anurag's thinking but so far what I have gleaned is this -

Anurag wanted Prerna far off Komolika's radar and that's why he faked Prerna's death. Now when Anurag comes to know that the fake death might as well have been a true death, if not for Bajaj, that would completely devastate him and we will see what he does as the story unfolds.

Now, he wanted Prerna to completely despise him and never try to contact him again, so that Komo never comes to know Pre's alive - so do the act yourself and make Pre think that he was in it for money and was playing her all this time (completely hilarious logic and crazier even Prerna bought it because hello there was no Bajaj and Pre had no money when Anu-Pre fell in love and unless Anu was a clairvoyant and knew Bajaj would enter their life, that logic doesn't hold. Anyway, let's roll with the story for now). So, if Anu makes Pre think that he was a devil, Pre would hate him and go away from his life forever. Problem solved. Pre's alive and far away from Komo's radar and can't be harmed anymore.

Coming to Sneha, the backstory hasn't unfolded yet about what exactly happened - so holding off on that now.

Yes, agreed. Great points! Anurag's plan was shitty and I guess the CVs were using too much creative liberty here, not real-world logic. I think Prerna should bring these up with Anurag when she finally gets to know the whole truth! 👍🏼

Not that I am a huge supporter of burdening children with secrets that might potentially impact their psyche especially at a young age, I think if Sneha has to know the truth, then she should know the whole truth and not just someone's version of it. 😊

Anu was drugged/ under the influence of alcohol and he was not FULFILLING HIS SEXUALDESIRES as you mentioned...in normal scenario this situation is called RAPE. I have come across real cases of males being raped in news.

Putting aside whatever Anurag did because that's not relevant to this post, he is Sneha's father, will always be her father and she has all rights to his surname, his wealth and whatever he has. Doesn't matter if the writers show him denying it. That fact still stands.

A child always deserves their dad's or mother's surname. Why? one of the reasons I can think of is that they don't procreate with close relatives of either parent because incest is disgusting.

A man doesn't become the father of a child just because he donated blood or an organ LOL. 😆🤣

They may twist and show anything to justify in the show but I won't accept it.

In my views, he did a mistake and their is no justification of his act and redemption in my eyes for throwing prerna from the bridge.
