Hi everyone!
I am fairly new to the show, but I've binge-watched it for a while and it is too entertaining to watch!
In general, I think casting this time was really really good. Jennifer Winget is just impeccable to watch - she is undeniably hot, and she brings an intense energy to her acting that really puts you into the character. We often see lead actresses make this dramatic change when they go from abla nari to badla nari, and all they do is become hot. Jennifer truly embodied the limitlessness of Maya, and she can also contrast so well to the adorableness that comes out when she's with someone she loves. Love it, love it!
On to Friday's episode - wow what was that???
It almost looked like the show was up to some point on Thursday and was suddenly told to wrap it up within one day. Too many dashed resolutions, and loopholes that I cannot wrap my head around.
1. Antara - I found it quite disappointing to be honest. Just a few episodes back, Maya made it clear she had no sympathy for Antara and wanted her to suffer/become her weapon against MJ. She was enjoying watching Antara grovel, but give her false hope and watch her push MJ back. Maybe Antara would come to live with her and continue fighting against MJ...but I guess that would not be happening. In the end, I think what they wanted to show is how her love for Rudra has made her more human i.e. She went through with watching Rishi die, but forgave Antara eventually.
2. The video - umm what? It's a pretty feasible idea, because I never really believed that Rishi could keep such a big secret from his older brother (honestly I was pretty surprised that Rudra never found out about Rishi-Maya lol). I was betting on this becoming a loose thread at some point in time that Rudra/MJ would find out...just not this easily and not this fast.
Also, it is ironic that at the end, it wasn't MJ's hatred or cunningness that became her downfall...it was a father's love that defeated her.
3. Vikram...I'm not very excited to be honest. Compared to season 1, Maya isn't the only crazy person in this story. MJ is a very good opponent, and now that he's hurt, he will become super dangerous. I think they could have even shown that Rudra disappears from their lives in total, and we get to see if he adopts their crazy ways. I'm not a big fan of seeing Maya become another victim again, or maybe this was a way for them to clean her slate?
In any case, I'm just super glad the show is still going on, because truthfully my biggest draw to the screen is Jennifer Winget - and I'm happy to see Maya toying with anyone who crosses her! (Also please bring Rudra and MJ as well, Maya isn't Maya without either of them!)
