What is with the character inconsistency?

Can someone explain what exactly Abir and Mishti are?

One day Mishti is mahaan, pandering to everyone in the family, lying to ensure there is no friction (like e-mail fiasco, Meenu's blackmailing etc) and next day she is fiery, wants to reveal everything and take a stand

One day Abir is fighting with his maa and family for what is right and next day talking about how it's best to hide stuff for family unity. Why did he never hide Meenu's stunts (or even Kunal's) then cuz they caused a lot of discord in the family in the past?

One day Abir/Mishti want to reveal the truth and next day they conveniently back off

One day Kunal hates Mishti and next day he is so impressed that he even goes to her for resolving fights with his wife

One day Mishti and Kuhu randomly praise each other and act like best buddies and next day they fight and then back to square one and all fights are reduced to sisterly nok jokhs.

Or is it just that writers will randomly change characters depending on what track they are on and what drama/conflict they wish to create next ?

I think the inconsistency is not inconsistency but trying to be relatable and as close to reality as they can get. The points you mentioned, if you look at it in a different way, we can deduct that the steps taken by the lead pair are result of the circumstances and mindset the characters are in. For ex. the Meenu' blackmailing thing, Mishti kept quiet maybe because there were already problems in the family. One top of it she felt indebted to Maheshwaris and believed Meenu's words regarding her being a homebreaker to some extent.

But recently during NISH-MISH track bm addressed the issue in the middle of the road, where she called out Jas for calling her muhboli, so and so. A lot of reassurances were given, maybe she's starting to believe that love doesnt indebt you, that's why she's trying to show ppl what she alone endured, like Kuhu always blaming her and such

I dont mind inconsistencies till the time they are not out of the basic character-sketch

infact flaws (be it in leads or supporting cast), make the characters interesting to watch & also easy to relate & connect with😛

but in this show somehow they are rushing things, most of the tracks have had interesting plots but they have ruined the execution part by making characters do & say things totally out of their character without any solid reason, background or monologue, so we find it difficult to digest these sudden & random changes in characters

I can understand that these characters are also growing & learning from their experiences & even are flawed & victims of their insecurities so they cant react exactly as we as viewers expect based on how we have seen them till previous episode

but as a viewer we lose connect when we see drastic changes in them🤢 mostly just for the need to maintain the drama quotient of the show😡

like in current track the mishnal bond seems to be rushed, infact it looks very ott to me, I mean I can accept that kunal realised that it was because of him that abir had to sacrifice mishti, and mishti is abir's soulmate and thus he is trying to make extra efforts to compensate his past behaviour & because it will make abir happy, but him seeking her advice & suggestions, that too every now n then looks very odd👎🏼 matlab itna change achanak se kaise aa gaya raaton-raat iss bande mein!?

final nail in coffin when she left her wedding and saved his brother and he knows she saved him twice at the tym of car accident and champaner... he said to his mom also hum mein se koyi pouncha ya nahi but mishti bhai ke paas pounchegi... he is secured in his place in his bhai's life and his bhai's life is secured with mishti in all means...

Hi Ruhi, I agree with all you've said but I also agree with the point Peace is saying.

I totally understand him accepting her for Abir and discussing anything and everything related to Abir but asking her for advice related to his life, be it about Parul or Kuhu seems odd.

We haven't seen any situation where he appreciates the way Mishti might've handled situations related to family so when he takes advice on those matters, it seems odd.

but kunal is shown as a character who only listens to his bhai & meenu, he doesnt even goes to naanu when he needs some help or advice, and now he is proactively seeking mishti's guidance

accept karna, efforts karna to make her feel accepted & as the elder bahu of house, as his bhabhi tak samjha, par jo kunal kisi ki nahi sunta, wo mishti ko consult kar raha hai wo bhi out of ongoing conversation topic par jaa kar, wo bhi daily!!🤢 like will kunal really seek her guidance?

without showing the change in his perspective cvs have directly shown the outcomes, I mean I was looking forward to mishnal bond growth and now I am as if ki show mein leap aa gaya ya maine kuchh scene miss kar diya

the depth in his dialouges are enough for me to accept their bond and kunal went against meenu for mishti... its 360 degree turn for me...

if u remember mishti's dialouges from b'day thing she says to kunal how meenu came in between them , how u always came in between us and how i hurt abir to speak him up about their break up this triggered kunal but he tought of abir and neglected it...and she said about parul also in this...

and the other dialouge to meenu by mishti that may be kunal is meenu's son in attitude but uski janma deni wali ki chaaya uss mein hain... vo aapki parvarish se bada hain... i didnt put exact dialouge but i kept summary correctly...

morethan character incosistency i call it screenplay inconsistency , editing and continuity of scenes...

they are just jumping from one day morning to afn to next mrng or afn and functions and drama..

which im getting irritated...
