Hey Sam.. I think in case of Kunal it was evil coz Meenu knew Nannu was a drug addict and still asked Kunal to spike his drink. Kunal didn't know about it - a different story.
And in case of Kuhu she was thinking of doing it for selfish reasons.
Abir and Atul have done it for fun. So the intentions are totally different. I think that matters the most.
The show is also taking this stance, but I simply don't buy it. To me, the action matters just as much as the intention and spiking a drink without consent is wrong no matter who does it and what their reasoning is. This is absolutely NOT to say that what Kunal and Kuhu did is okay, but rather to stress that what Abir or Atul did is ALSO not okay.
The manipulation comes in where the writers control the impact of the actions and therefore make one look worse than the other because of their end result. My question is, if you are framing Kuhu and Kunal as grey/negative for this, shouldn't the same courtesy be extended to all the characters who perform the same action? Why the selective scapegoating?
Not unlike Kuhu having a near-fatal reaction to walnuts when Kunal fed them to her, but being totally find when it was Mishti. I know this was a blooper, but it gives a very clear picture of what Kuku's role and the role of their relationship is in the story. 🤔
@Aqua: Kunal breaking that promise bothered me also, because he has actually kept it faithfully until now. I think #ladakuchokro needs another jhatka soon to remember his words.
I understood what Kuhu was saying but only after many re-watches of the scene, so I am willing to cut Kunal some slack. He is being absolutely frustrating, but at the same time, it's very much in character. The thing is, we know why Kuhu reacted the way she did but Kunal and Abir don't; to them, it looked like an overreaction to a fairly inoccuous situation. Hopefully, they are about to find out just how deep these issues run. 😕
I like to imagine that this scene happened after Kunal had already listened to her vent for a while, so his reaction was more palatable. I do think it's hopeful foreshadowing that he shut her up with love rather than with harshness. 😊
