Actually let me tell you the history of the artwork.

Suddenly I had the wish of wearing "churi" s . But was too shy to wear them without any occasion. So I had drawn the right hand. Then I had drawn the left hand. Still I had to decorate it more. So I had drawn the lotus.

My drawings are never in shape since childhood. Lotus is the thing I loved drawing in childhood.

Again there is a poem of my favorite poet in which he calls "Sundar"

"Ashru daher kamal naba" " Newly bloomed lotus on the pond/lake of tears". The idea of lotus comes to me from there.

I was mesmerized by Viraj's smile in Bhootu.

So I decorated the lotus with lips/smiles. After finishing one was still left. So I decorated it with face.

Then I gave the shading. Perhaps to indicate the human heart. I can not remember.

I did not realize that it became mayurpankh.

Oh it's just a bit of folklore I heard in some old songs. During the Amrit Manthan, Shivji consumed that deadly poison and it left him powerless for a bit. While kinda paralyzed from the shock, he called out to Durga (Parvati, we Bengalis prefer to call her Durga/Uma) as "Mother", you know like we all do when we are hurt or something. It was from then, that Parvati, became "Jagatjanani" from only Mahadeva's wife. It's a very cute anecdote.

I heard it from the old Bengali film "Antony Firingee" where a foreigner called Antony converts to Hinduism and performs in "Kobir Lorai" (Fight of Poets). He was a staunch Devi-bhakta, while his opponents were mostly Vaishnav.

Shivya was dripping in divinity though i didn't find Himanshu the right fit to play Krishna. Shivya stole the show. Even with that negative start,she delivered a magical performance. Mallika unfortunately lacks the vulnerable side of Radha. She cries like a hurt girlfriend not like a lovelorn virahini. Something is off about her. She has that pretty face n all but her performance doesn't scream Radha !!! She lacks Radha's passion. May be it's just me or the over-glorification of Radha's character destroyed the vibe but i still think her acting is quite stiff and dull. It doesn't seem effortless. Shivya was just the right choice. Wish they had taken a leap instead of dragging with the same actors.
