^I think he'll fall in love and realize his lies simultaneously. Judging from the earlier promos, they were high school sweethearts so he must've loved suman deeply before they split. He looked at their high school photo in his wallet and missed her dearly so he must've fallen in love with sumo in a genuine manner but realized that he lied later which might've triggered the split. They usually share as shravan mentioned in an episode majority of things despite faking their buddy relationship.

If happiness had a face that's Sumo around dad.....she smiled so beautifully...and so did Shravan to see her happy. Strictly my opinion...not a fan of eye locks... but liked the little "moment" they shared during the ride...nice.
