Hey, guys! I didnât like how the Madhavi track was handled by the makers. They showed her as a âbechariâ while clearly she took advantage of a heavily drunk man and then made him feel guilty for no fault of his. If the genders were reversed, it was plainly a criminal offence. Mind you, she was herself a top criminal lawyer. His mistake though was that he could not muster the courage to tell it to Prerna. This is my take on how that track could have continued after PRBâs marriage.
I know itâs a controversial topic but I feel we can look at things from a manâs perspective too. Iâll do the narration in RBâs case. Inspiration taken from RBâs birthday episode. Hope youâll like it. Claps and slaps, both are welcome.
The Phone Call. (pt 1)
They have been married for a month and a half. Initially she was too hesitant to get intimate.Perhaps they had been âjust friendsâ for far too long and she needed some time to erase that thin line. Then when she felt that that line had disappeared, her Kaka babu passed away. This was followed by Rishabhâs busy schedule and three business trips in a span of thirty days. It might be his excuse for giving Prerna the time she had never asked for. All this is taking a toll on her now.
It is Mr. Bajajâs birthday. Her eyes get flooded with tears again and again making her vision blur while she decorates their place to surprise him. After the decorations, she gets ready, wears a peach-colored saree with a rose gold blouse and drop earrings. On her neck is the mangalsutra which Rishabh wore her on their wedding.
âYour bride is waiting for you.â She smiles with moist eyes as she applies sindoor in her hairline.
She is aware that her husband is waiting for her to open her arms to let him rest in the realm of love. She wants to drown into that ocean too where they will be one. The little distance that still lurks between them is so unnecessary. Her eyes turn to the closed door yet again, waiting for him to open it.
Finally, the door opens. It is all dark and quiet inside except the enchanting song of the winds.
âGhar main itna andhera kyun hai? Prerna? PrernnaaâŚ.?â and he switches on the light. And there he stands tall, Prernaâs intezar, a handsome and dark figure wearing a cream-colored business suit, soaking in the beautiful sight that was waiting forhim. Is it a dream? Wherever his vision goes, he sees fresh and full-grown flowers in red, purple and white. The bouquets of red roses and feverfew daisies, surrounded by white babyâs-breaths, sit right in the middle of the hall. And there, in the lap of those flowers, lies her message inside the card,
âDear Husband,
âYou are everything I have ever wanted and everything I have always waited for. Thank you for making me a part of your life.
âForgive me,please. I forgot your birthday.
âHappy Birthday, Dear Love,
âPrerna.â
It was her handwriting.
As he enters his bedroom, his eyes sparkle with the lights of candles that encircle the room. Onthe bed a wristwatch waits for him, with a note, âOur love has conquered time. We will be together, here and beyond.â Mr. Bajaj lifts it up with a tender smile. But where is Prerna? He looks around and back. There she is!
âPrerna, ye sab..?â,he gladly asks.
She smiles and shrugs her shoulders. She walks towards him and begins,
âMr. Bajaj, I am sorry. Pta nhi main kaise bhool gyi...â and her voice chokes with emotion. Rishabh, seeing her struggle, proceeds thus,
âThere is no need to say anything,â he cups her face and says, âTum mujhse pyaarkrti ho, main bhi krta hun. Fir kyun hum ise jeete nhi? Kyun is tarah maafi maangnemain waqt zaya karte hain? Dekho, shadi ko kitne din ho gaye aur humne kitnawaqt zaya kar diya. Kuch kiya hi nhi abhi tak.â Prerna giggles at this. Rishabh reciprocates with a mischievous smile.
âLetâs cut the cake first.â she chuckles with the playfulness of a teenager.
âCake is not running anywhere⌠Bahut khoobsurat lag rhi ho.â, he pulls her towards himself with a brooding intensity. Prerna melts into the heat of his blue eyes.
âYe kaise ho gya,Prerna. Aisa to kabhi khwaab main bhi nhi socha tha. Tum meri ho gayi?â
âApke siva mainaur kisi ki ho hi nhi sakti, Mr. Bajaj.â
Their eyes lock, revealing a tale of yearning and patience that they wish to continue no more. Prerna wraps her arms around his neck while he holds her by the waist. Drawn towards each other, they embrace while looking into each otherâs eyes. Rishabh plants a kiss on her hair and another on her neck. They begin to sink into one another as the slumber towards an awareness begin. As they loosen the hold, their eyes slowly open looking into another. Prerna fondles his ear as he moves his fingers into her hair and wraps another arm around her waist. They have arrived and there is no going back now.
Suddenly the wind becomes wild and all candles, except one, extinguish.
âMr. Bajaj yeâŚ?â Prerna feels it strong and worries.
âKuch nhi hua, Prerna. Hawa chal rhi thi to candles bujh gyi. Na hawa ka kasoor hai na candleska.â, he kisses her on the forehead. She plunges into his chest and a sudden rush of worry scares her that they may get separated.
âPrerna? Kya hua?âhe asks, caressing her cheek.
âPta nhiâŚâ, she takes a deep breath. âHum alag nhi ho sakte. Hai na?â
He relaxes her and is, in turn, relaxed by her warmth. He softly holds her chin with one hand and leansto kiss her but suddenly his phone rings breaking the bliss. He hangs the call without a second thought. Rishabh looks at her maintaining the intensity as he will not let anything to interfere. Within a few seconds his phone rings again. He hangs the call again but it rings again before he can finally switch it off.
âMay be something urgent, Prerna.â
The professional and the wife within her quarrel. Knowing he will soon return, she let him be.
âKar lijiye baat.Par jaldi!â
âJust one minute!âhe confirms.
âHello?â
âHello! Is this Mr. Bajaj?
âYes!â
âMr. Bajaj, this is Dr. Khanna. Your wife is in our hospital. She fell unconscious before the hospital gate while she was coming here for the check-up.â
Rishabh is confused. He looks at Prerna and gives her a casual smile. Nobody has a right to spoil these precious moments. So, he turns around and moves towards the window and asks,
âMy what? What are you talking about?â he whispers.
âSir, she told us that you are her babyâs father.â
âWhat??â, it was unbelievable.
Meanwhile, Prerna hugs him from behind and teases, âHo gyi apki important call, Mr. Bajaj?â
âHan bas, Prerna!â,he struggles to hide his bewilderment and disbelief.
âName?â he asks. For he can not speak any more at the moment with Prerna resting on his shoulder.
âMadhavi Bose,sir.â
