I loved how the chapter crescendoed to that moment when their eyes met. And then lingered tantalisingly, caressing the moment. Infusing it with every emotion Faraz’s gazal evokes. Heart stoppingly perfect WIAN.

And Khushi! I think she fell in love with the voice even before she saw the owner of that deep rich baritone. Did she even stand a chance? I am getting goosebumps just imagining him reciting Shayari.

Loved the Main shayar toh nahin reference 😆 After all, they say every heart is a poet when in love. Why should our Mr. Raizada be an exception to the rule?

Thank you for sharing the clip. I haven't watched Ek Jashn, so this was new for me. Never knew he had actually recited poetry for Khushi. Haha! Who would've thought?

I've been lurking around reading all the poetical too and fro happening here, and getting caught up in the story you're weaving. Wish I knew the language well enough to understand all its beauty.

What a place and line to end with!! You have a whole lot of us panting, for lack of a better word.

Jagjit Singh was an extremely accomplished artist and a master of his craft, it goes without saying, and I remain a fan, but I think the depth of feeling that Ghalib's words evoke touches each of us differently. And that is difficult to capture. I like his renditions of Ghalib's poetry... but I can't lose myself in it.

Would you say that we get lost in the voice and its texture and not what the voice is singing/saying in this case?

I'm thankful to Naseerudin Shah and Jagjit Singh for introducing Ghalib to many of us, especially from the southern part of the des.

Mr. Raizada, especially, should not be an exception to this rule. Will he recite a Raizada original inspired by the almond shaped kohl eyes and rose-pink bow shaped lips? 😉
