There, I said it!
I have never seen a more confused story and even more confused execution on a DAILY basis.🤣Literally every day, issa brand new day for the CVs! Hell, it's been over a year and still they have not figured out which way they should go. Kabhi naya kabhi purana. Makes for one hotch potch of a serial leaving its viewers scratching their heads, ki aakhir ho kya raha hai??!!
I'm sure when EK did KZK1 with a rail-ki-patri concept, she didn't have any particular fixed storyline in mind (none of the shows in ITV do). They just went with what worked with the main characters at that time and gave us 7(?) years worth of a hit story. I don't know what struck her to remake it again in 2019. But if it's a true remake, could they have started and kept it as that, maybe? Instead, they start with a completely different treatment of the main characters, added in new characters and story arcs. And then suddenly try to rein in the plot along the old one's line (multiple marriages of leads 🤮).
What they fail to realise is that this AnuPre are completely different than the old ones. And indeed if your story is about this AnuPre, they need to be given a story according to their characters. You can't show Anu as an intelligent, smart guy suddenly agreeing to marry Komo because of a lame sacrifice (many more examples post that, I've lost count). Similarly, you cannot show a naive, quick-witted, unambitious but loving girl becoming insensitive to her own family (marrying Bajaj and not informing anyone, and now just leaving Kolkata without fighting for justice).
They just HAD to somehow show Anu betraying Pre and Pre coming back for revenge after a leap with Bajaj's help. Everyone seems to know this is what will happen because it happened in KZK1. But the makers never stopped to think that the AnuPre they have sketched this time around aren't suited to it. Literally, remaking one's own show should have been the easiest thing, but the makers failed in doing even that!😆
So, maybe the writers should write a new rail-ki-patri story and not forcibly insert plotlines from season 1 malai maarke. No wonder, this show got it's highest TRP only during Naveen Babu track which was completely absent in season 1.
