RUDHINTA OS - CHOTI MALKIN
I have started hating the character of mama and Mami of bondita so this is an os on the change n equation of relations with the marriage of bondita with Anirudh.
It has been a good one month for the marriage of Anirudh and bondita. Now bondita has been accepted in the Choudhry family. She is a friend to the brothers of Anirudh and a daughter to kakaji. Even though anirudh’s father is yet to accept her fully yet has started warming up toward her seeing her innocence. Bondita’s mother staysin the outhouse of the roy choudhry villa and Anirudh has started to consider her as his mother figure thus takes care of her.
So today after one month there is a rasam for which a daughter has to visit her paternal family. Thus mama and mami finally plan to visit their daughter and bondita and take them for the rasam. Mami is unaware of the whereabouts of mother of bondita and thinks that it’s good riddance that she left the house.
Mami- aaj phir uss chuhiya bondita ko milna hoga.
Mama- are tum aisa mat bolo, pata hai na ki ab woh chaudhrykhandan ki bahu hai. Uss se ache samband rakhenge toh humara hi fayad hoga.
Mami – haan haan janti hoon issiliye toh use rasam ke liyelane ke liye jaa rahi hoon.
They go to their daughter’s house first. Sampoorna is too happy to see her parents and runs to welcome them but as they go inside the house they face the hostile behavior of the family members. (Anirudh had taken a class of munshi kaka and his family on their return from wedding so they are angry to be put in this kind of situation). Nevertheless, they allow sampoorna to go with her parents as per tradition. As sampoorna and her parents, reach Choudhry villa mami gets jealous seeing the grandeur of the choudhry villa. She mentally curses bondita. As they are about to step inside sampoorna removes her foot wear as a token of respect for the employer's family and mama and mami also follow suit. Soham and batuk are in the drawing-room chit-chatting sitting on sofa. Seeing them sampoorna bows in respect and they ask about bondita.
Sampoorna – Pranam chote malik. Hamein choti malkin se milnahai.
Batuk – baodi toh upar hai. Par yeh tumhare saath kaun hai?
Sampoorna – ji yeh mere maa aur baba hain, choti malkin kemama aur mami.
Soham oh woh jinhonebaodi ka dadaji se badi umar ke insaan ke saath shaadi tay kardi?
Mama and mami look down not able to face the taunts.
Soham – kaka, jara bondita ko bula layiye
Kaka- ji chote baba
As mami tries to walk towards the sofa sampoorna pulls her and makes her sit on the floor. Mami makes a face but keeps quite. Now she wants to know about the entire equation of the household.
Kaka comes back
Kaka- Batuk baba bahurani aa rahi hai.
Batuk – thik hai. Tum bazaar se rosugolla leke ana.
Bondita runs down n stumbles on her saree but before she canfall down a hand catches her and glares at her. She bites her tongue and looksat kakosa. He simply goes away.
As bondita comes to the hall. She hugs sampoorna. Mama nmami hug her and ask her to pack her bags for rasam. Batuk and soham make faces.
Bondita – kounsa rasam mami
Mami – shaadi ke baad ladki apne maika ati hai. Tumhe bhiana hai.
Bondita – nahin main nahn jaa sakti, Maika toh who hai najahan meri maa hai aur wahan meri maa toh hai hi nahn. Main apne maa ke paasjaungi. (towards sampoorna) didi tum jaake ayo.
Mami gets angry seeing the guts of bondita and goes towards her to scold her but at the same time batuk and soham cover bondita and warns mami.
Soham – baodi aap ko jana hai kya?
Bondita- nahn mujhe inke saath nahin jana.
Batuk – tak toh kisiki himmat nahn apko yahan se leke janekaa.
Mami gets pissed off. She gets irritated seeing these young kids misbehaving with their daughter but threatening bondita with respect. So mami starts to bad mouth bondita but before she could speak more
Listening to the commotion Anirudh comes and declares that bondita won’t go with them.
Thus mami and mama are asked to leave the house.
Insulted mama and mami leave the choudhry villa.
I don’t know how it came out or if it is readable but I just want something similar to happen in the show where mami is insulted. Thank you for the patient reading.
