Since when have people on IF become hardcore online bullies? I see numerous posts from long term IF members under the guise of MIDs with the sole purpose of bashing someone or other.
I do agree with your colonizer pleasing mindset comment,@AllThatCritique and @SaayaofKaaya. It's certainly sad that celebs (including Michael Jackson) feel the need to engage in skin lightening treatments to be accepted by audience.
Who are we to judge people on base of looks, declaring this person is a flop from get go or so-called gorgeous and hence deserving of a career in entertainment industry?? This person has not even made a debut and people are already making nasty comments re: her skin color. Discuss how good/bad she is in a movie, when she debuts. Even Karan Deol did not get as much hate in her after a bad debut movie.
Let her debut. She will either vanish or find roles in some other entertainment industry. Maybe she might surprise you. Time will tell.
In terms of which of the numerous star kids making a debut will stick around for years, it depends. There are a lot of non-good looking people with talent who are doing well. There are a lot of talented people (with & without good looks) who are struggling and there are a lot of good looking people without talent who have either faded or still getting roles. The ones who have honed their talent deserve their success.
Nepotism only works when you have someone like Karan Johar backing you, otherwise you will quickly fade or keep struggling. We have enough examples like Zayed Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Fardeen Khan, Twinkle Khanna, Tanisha, Sunny Deol, etc.
Typically I ignore many such posts. It's only been a few years for me in IF, but surely we have had a culture of agree to disagree and making your opinions heard, speaking in respectful ways, without needing to act like indian papparazzi constantly making insensitive comments.
