Ranveer is still light years behind Ranbir in acting

Was watching GullyBoy again and Ranveer's performance was good, but not great. Yes, he was subtle. Yes, he didn't overact. But he went to the other extreme. He didn't emote adequately in a few scenes. Also, in scenes with Siddhant Chaturvedi, the latter stole the show completely. This was definitely not the performance of the year. He never made me go wow!

I was just thinking about Ranbir, and how powerfully he emotes in each film. He literally lives the character, be it Barfi, Tamsha, Wake up Sid or Rockstar. You can feel his pain, his pathos.

I don't know about stardom, but Ranveer is nowhere near Ranbir in raw acting alone.

I'm guessing you haven't watched Malayalam movies. Very few of the BWers can actually act when compared to Mallu actors. Pit a Ranbir against a Fahd Faasil or a Tovino Thomas, you'll see the difference.

Ranveer Ranbir comparison is basically one between a blind man and one who can see the diff between light and darkness.

PS. I used Mallu movies as example because I'm familiar with those. I understand Marathi movies have some superlative actors, too, as I'm sure other regional industries do.

Yup. Regional movies have better actors. Always. BW have the better stars. It's the same with how International movies have better actors than most HW movies esp the current breed right now. The actors vs the stars.

I won't say light years behind...because as much as I dislike Ranveer...he is a very good actor.....but I find Ranbir a better actor than him....light years would be like comparing Nawazuddin'd acting with Salman...or Kangna with Katrina...😆

Maybe. But we won't know until he stops playing an overgrown man child in every movie.

Ranbir is a little ahead of Ranveer acting capability wise.

However Ranveer is a very fine actor as well and really fantastic in Gully Boy imo.
